Yabba North is a locality in northern Victoria, Australia. The locality is the Shire of Moira local government area. At the , Yabba North and the surrounding area had a population of 256. It has a disused railway—the " Katamatite Tramway"—running through the locality. Yabba North post office opened in August 1901 and was closed on 4 February 1956. The electoral district of Ovens Valley is an electoral district of the Victorian Legislative Assembly in Australia. It was created in the redistribution of electoral boundaries in 2013, and came into effect at the 2014 state election. It largely covers areas from the abolished district of Murray Valley, centering on the city of Wangaratta. It includes the towns of Yarrawonga, Cobram, and other towns in the local government areas of Moira, Wangaratta, and Alpine. Yabba North Football Club
Stephen Harold Gascoigne, better known as Yabba, (19 March 1878 – 8 January 1942) was an Australian sports fan, remembered as a heckler at Sydney Cricket Ground (SCG) cricket and rugby league games in the early part of the 20th century. ''Yabba'' was known for his knowledgeable witticisms shouted from "The Hill", a grassy general admissions area of the SCG. In Yabba's era, cricket matches were watched like tennis matches, and spectators at the SCG were much quieter than today. This is the reason Yabba's comments were so clearly heard by players and other spectators. "The Hill" area was replaced with seating in the early 1990s. The new area was then formally named ''Yabba's Hill'' in honour of his colourful comments, several of which have passed into cricketing folklore. In 2007 the Doug Walters Stand and ''Yabba's Hill'' were demolished to make way for the new Victor Trumper Stand. Benalla is a small city located on the Broken River gateway to the High Country north-eastern region of Victoria, Australia, about north east of the state capital Melbourne.
