Y is a 2022 Indian Marathi-language thriller film directed by Ajit Suryakant Wadikar, written by Swapneel Sojwal and Ajit Wadikar. It features Mukta Barve, Nandu Madhav, Prajakta Mali, Omkar Govardhan, Sandeep Pathak, Rohit Kokate, Suhas Sirsath. The film was screened at MAMI Festival in 2019 and was released in theatres on 24 June 2022. Plot Story of the film Dr. Aarti Deshmukh revolves around a medical officer. Aarti, a mother of a daughter, is tasked with investigating the medical systems involved in female foeticide. In front of the conscientious Aarti who does his job well, Dr. Purushottam stands as a challenge. Despite many attempts, Aarti does not find any evidence against Purushottam. Purushottam eventually uses his powers to transfer Aarti, but in the days remaining before the transfer, Aarti takes up the task of gathering evidence. Mukta Barve (; born 17 May 1981; Marathi language, Marathi: ) is an Indian film, television, and theatre actress and a producer. One of the most popular Marathi celebrities, she has established a career in Marathi films. She is a recipient of seven Maharashtra State Film Awards one for Best Debut and other six for Best Actress in different plays and films. Prajakta Mali (born 8 August 1989) is an Indian actress known for her work in Marathi film and television. She was born in Pandharpur and brought up in Pune. She started her career with Star Pravah's ''Suvasini'' in 2011. Later, she appeared in Zee Marathi's '' Julun Yeti Reshimgathi'' in 2013.
