Xie Siyi
Xie Siyi (; born 28 March 1996) is a Chinese diver. He has won four gold medals at the World Championships and two Olympic gold medals. Career Xie's previous main event was 10m platform and his partner was Chen Aisen. However, due to a serious injury in 2012, he began focusing more on springboard. At the 2015 World Aquatics Championships, he became a new world champion after winning the gold medal of 1m springboard. He also won a gold in 3m springboard at the 2017 World Aquatics Championships held in Budapest. In 2018, Xie took part in his first World Cup event held in Wuhan, and won a gold in the 3m synchro partnered with Cao Yuan, as well as a gold in the individual 3m event. At the 2019 World Aquatics Championships held in Gwangju, South Korea, he again won gold in the 3m springboard event. The men's 3 metre springboard diving competition at the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo was held in 2021 at the Tokyo Aquatics Centre. It was the 26th appearance of the event, which has been held at every Olympic Games since the 1908 Summer Olympics. Competition format The competition was held in three rounds: * Preliminary round: All divers perform six dives; the top 18 divers advance to the semi-final. * Semi-final: The scores of the preliminary round are erased. Chen Aisen
Chen Aisen (, born 22 October 1995) is a Chinese diver. He is a double gold medal winner at the 2016 Summer Olympics. He won gold in the men's synchronised 10m platform competition with diving partner Lin Yue, as well as gold in the men's individual 10m platform. He has also won golds in the World Championships partnered with Yang Hao and Cao Yuan. Early life Chen was born in Guangzhou, China. He started diving while he was at primary school, selected for his potential in diving. He studied at Jinan University in Guangzhou. Diving career In 2009, Chen won a gold medal in the men's 10m synchronized event at the East Asian Games with his partner Zhang Yanquan. Chen was just 14. The Team event competition of the diving events at the 2015 World Aquatics Championships was held on 29 July 2015. The mixed team competition, introduced for the first time in this edition of the championships, must include five dives. A dive must be performed by the female or the male from the trampoline of 1m, from the trampoline of 3m and from the platform each.
