X Is Loaded were a four-piece rock music, rock band from Bath, Somerset, England. Members * Jake (Phoenix) Robertson - lead vocals, backing guitar * Martino - lead guitar * Alex (Al) Cole - Bass guitar, bass * Jamie (the drummer) O'Gorman - drums As Tenner They released the single "Where Do You Come from" in June 2000 on Fierce Panda Records, and the Extended play, EP single "Last Chance" in November 2000 on Food Records, under the moniker Tenner. After recruiting a new drummer, they decided to change their name. The name ''X Is Loaded'' was chosen as an amalgamation of several ideas, but the real reason is known only to the band. The ''North Wales Weekly News'' is one of a group of newspapers published weekly in Llandudno. History The newspaper was first published on 14 February 1889 by local printer Robert Evans Jones as the ''Weekly News and Visitors’ Chronicle for Colwyn Bay, Colwyn, Llandrillo, Conway, Deganway and Neighbourhood'', a four-page broadsheet which cost 1d. Jones' brother William built a new printworks in 1900 on Conwy Quay, where the ''Weekly News'' continued to be published until May 1972 when it moved to new purpose-built premises in Llandudno Junction; shortly afterwards it abandoned hot metal typesetting in favour of computerised printing; later technological developments allowed copy to be transmitted to the printworks from branch offices elsewhere in North Wales. Music For Nations
Music For Nations (MFN) is a British independent record label focusing mainly on rock and metal. It was a subsidiary of the larger label distributor Zomba Records, which was a division of BMG and later Sony Music Entertainment. Launched in 1983 by Martin Hooker, Music For Nations established itself as a European leader in the rock and metal world, with early signings like Tank, Exciter, Metallica (who had three gold albums while on MFN), Slayer and Megadeth paving the way. As MFN grew, the company expanded its operation to include not just licensed acts from the United States, but its own signings. It released albums by artists including Paradise Lost, Opeth, Anathema, Cradle of Filth, Testament and countless other metal bands. Hell Is for Heroes are an English post-hardcore band from London. Founder members Will McGonagle and Joe Birch (previously of Symposium) were joined by James Findlay, Tom O'Donoghue and later Justin Schlosberg. The band played their formative shows in West London throughout 2001. After two independently released singles, Hell Is for Heroes released their debut album in February 2003 on EMI. ''The Neon Handshake'' was produced and recorded in Los Angeles at Sound City Studios and mixed in Umeå, Sweden at Tonteknik by Pelle Henricsson and Eskil Lövström. The band's A&R was managed by Duncan Illing. The band and their A&R left EMI in 2004. The band released its second album ''Transmit Disrupt'' independently, before signing a deal with Burning Heart Records, who subsequently re-released it in 2006. Million Dead were an English post-hardcore band from London, active between 2000 and 2005. History The band was founded in 2000 by Cameron Dean and Julia Ruzicka, after both came to London from Australia. They were joined by Ben Dawson, who had worked with Dean in a record shop in the city. The band's lineup was completed with the addition of vocalist Frank Turner, an old bandmate of Dawson's. The name was chosen from a lyric in the song "The Apollo Programme Was a Hoax", by Swedish hardcore punk band Refused. The first Million Dead demo was recorded in September 2001.
