''X Faktors'' is the Latvian version of ''The X Factor'', a series originating from the United Kingdom. Based on the original British show, the concept of the Latvian version, as is common with international installments, is to find new singing talent (solo or groups) contested by aspiring singers drawn from public auditions. Citi Zēni (; ) is a Latvian pop band, consisting of six members. They represented Latvia in the Eurovision Song Contest 2022 with their single “Eat Your Salad”. History Citi Zēni formed in March 2020 at a songwriting camp outside of Riga. In 2021, the band released their debut album '' Suņi Iziet Ielās,'' which translates to ''Dogs Take To The Streets'' in English. In 2022, the band announced their bid for Supernova 2022, with the release of their new single "Eat Your Salad". The band qualified for the final and went on to win it on 12 February 2022. "Eat Your Salad" is the debut English-language song by Latvian rap-pop band Citi Zēni. The song represented Latvia in the first semi-final of the Eurovision Song Contest 2022 in Turin, Italy. Background According to the band, the song was created "to make a hard topic easy to digest and fun to listen to." Two main sources of inspiration were named for the song: one was a vegan friend of Jānis who wore a shirt that said "Instead of meat, I eat pussy", and the other was a contestant on a Latvian TV cooking show who convinced him to change Jānis' views on the environment, and at the end, challenged him to make a song based on that ideal and "develop this into a song that would not be depressing". Tautumeitas is a Latvian folk/ world music band formed in 2015. The band consists of six women vocalists and instrumentalists. History In 2017 Tautumeitas together with Auļi released a 13-track album ''Lai māsiņa rotājās!'' dedicated to engagements and weddings. The album received Annual Latvian Music Recording Award as the Best Folk music album of 2017.
