Citi Zēni
Citi Zēni (; ) is a Latvian pop band, consisting of six members. They represented Latvia in the Eurovision Song Contest 2022 with their single “Eat Your Salad”. History Citi Zēni formed in March 2020 at a songwriting camp outside of Riga. In 2021, the band released their debut album ''Suņi Iziet Ielās,'' which translates to ''Dogs Take To The Streets'' in English. In 2022, the band announced their bid for Supernova (Latvian TV series), Supernova 2022, with the release of their new single "Eat Your Salad". The band qualified for the final and went on to win it on 12 February 2022. As a result, they represented Latvia in the Eurovision Song Contest 2022 and failed to qualify for the grand final. "Aijā" (; ) is a song by Latvian indie rock band Sudden Lights, released on 27 January 2023. The song represented Latvia in the Eurovision Song Contest 2023 after winning ''Supernova 2023'', Latvia's national selection for that year's Eurovision Song Contest. Background In interviews, the band stated that "Aijā" was made with the purpose of being a lullaby, in the sense that it would make people sleep easier. Sudden Lights is a Latvian indie rock band, founded in 2012 in Riga. The band consists of vocalist Andrejs Reinis Zitmanis, drummer Mārtiņš Matīss Zemītis, guitarist Kārlis Matīss Zitmanis, and bassist Kārlis Vārtiņš. In February 2023, the group won '' Supernova 2023'' with the song " Aijā" and represented Latvia in the Eurovision Song Contest 2023. Latvia has participated in the Eurovision Song Contest 22 times since making its debut at the contest in 2000, where the group Brainstorm finished third with the song " My Star".
