XESS-AM
XESS-AM (620 kHz) is a radio station broadcasting from a transmitter in Puerto Nuevo, Baja California, Mexico, south of Tijuana. It is owned by Media Sports de México, S.A. de C.V., and broadcasts a split format of Spanish-language programming talk and music programming under the banner PSN Radio Tecate, aimed at listeners in Tecate. XEXX-AM
XEXX-AM ("PSN Radio Tecate") is a commercial radio station on 1420 AM in Tijuana, Baja California, Mexico, broadcasting to the San Diego–Tijuana radio market. The station is owned by Grupo Audiorama and operated by Primer Sistema de Noticias. The station simulcasts PSN Radio Tecate programs also aired on XESS-AM 620. History The original XEXX concession was awarded to Operadora de Radio y Televisión, S.A., in 1946. In the 1950s, the station was owned by Jose J. Clark and was powered at 2,000 watts. The daytime power was boosted in the early 2000s to 10,000 watts, allowing XEXX to cover Tijuana's sprawling suburbs and much of San Diego during daylight hours. XESDD-AM or ''La Tremenda'' is a radio station in Tijuana, Baja California. It broadcasts on 1030 kHz from a site along Mexican Federal Highway 1 near Puerto Nuevo in Playas de Rosarito Municipality, shared with sister station XESS-AM 620. History The first concession for XESDD was issued for 920 kHz at Ensenada, Baja California in 1988. XEC-AM is a radio station in Tijuana, broadcasting on 1310 AM. It carries a news/talk format. History XEC's original concession was awarded to Luis E. Enciso in 1934. XEPE-AM (1700 AM) is a radio station in Tecate, Baja California, Mexico, serving the San Diego–Tijuana area. XEPE is owned and operated by Media Sports de México, a company of businessman and former Baja California governor Jaime Bonilla Valdez. It simulcasts the programming of XEC-AM 1310 "Radio Enciso". XEPE is on the air 24 hours a day at 10,000 watts in the AM expanded band, commonly known as the "X band", and is the only commercial station in the expanded band. The 1700 kHz frequency has de facto Clear-channel station, clear channel status. There are no expanded AM band stations at 1700 AM in the United States west of Texas or in the rest of Mexico. Puerto Nuevo is a town in Playas de Rosarito Municipality, Baja California, located on the Pacific Coast of Mexico. The 2010 census reported a population of 135 inhabitants. ESPN Deportes Radio was an American Spanish language sports radio network created and produced by Disney-owned ESPN. Programming included call-in talk shows and commentary from hosts about a full range of sporting events, including soccer, American football, baseball and boxing.
