XEPE-AM (1700 AM) is a radio station in Tecate, Baja California, Mexico, serving the San Diego–Tijuana area. XEPE is owned and operated by Media Sports de México, a company of businessman and former Baja California governor Jaime Bonilla Valdez. It simulcasts the programming of XEC-AM 1310 "Radio Enciso". XEPE is on the air 24 hours a day at 10,000 watts in the AM expanded band, commonly known as the "X band", and is the only commercial station in the expanded band. The 1700 kHz frequency has de facto Clear-channel station, clear channel status. There are no expanded AM band stations at 1700 AM in the United States west of Texas or in the rest of Mexico. XEPRS-AM (1090 kHz) is a commercial AM radio station licensed to Playas de Rosarito, a suburb of Tijuana in Baja California, Mexico. It broadcasts a Sports/Talk radio format, branded as "The Mightier 1090". The station is heard across the San Diego-Tijuana, Los Angeles-Orange County, Riverside-San Bernardino areas of Southern California. XEPRS is a Class A, 50,000 watt clear-channel station using a non-directional antenna in the daytime. Because it must protect other Class A stations on 1090 AM, it uses a three-tower array directional antenna at night. The transmitter is just off of Mexican Federal Highway 1D in Fraccionamiento Rancho del Mar. The daytime signal can be heard over much of Coastal Southern California and parts of Baja California. XHHC-FM
XHHC-FM is a radio station on 92.1 FM in Ensenada, Baja California , Mexico, carrying the La Caliente regional Mexican format from Multimedios Radio. History XEHC-AM received its concession on 22 November 1958. It was owned by José de Jesús Partida Villanueva and broadcast on 920 kHz with 2,500 watts. By the end of the 1960s, it was owned by Gloria Herminia Enciso Power and had increased its power to 10,000 watts day and 1,500 night on 1590 kHz. XHHC-FM came to air on 5 January 2013, with the AM transmitter being shut off the next year. The 92.1 frequency in Ensenada had previously been occupied by XHBCE-FM, which in the mid-2000s conducted a series of moves and a frequency change in order to move from Ensenada to Tecate. XEXX-AM ("PSN Radio Tecate") is a commercial radio station on 1420 AM in Tijuana, Baja California, Mexico, broadcasting to the San Diego–Tijuana radio market. The station is owned by Grupo Audiorama and operated by Primer Sistema de Noticias. The station simulcasts PSN Radio Tecate programs also aired on XESS-AM 620. History The original XEXX concession was awarded to Operadora de Radio y Televisión, S.A., in 1946. In the 1950s, the station was owned by Jose J. Clark and was powered at 2,000 watts. Jaime Bonilla Valdez
Jaime Bonilla Valdez (born 9 June 1950) is a Mexican politician and entrepreneur who served as the Governor of Baja California from 2019 to 2021. A member of the National Regeneration Movement party, he has been a Federal Congressman and a Senator of the Republic. Life Bonilla was born in Tijuana, Baja California and obtained his degree in business administration from the UNAM in 1983. He worked in a variety of companies, including Electrol de México, CONESA, and COVIMEX de México. Between 1982 and 1985, he directed the Potros de Tijuana baseball club, which played in the Liga Mexicana del Pacífico. In 1984, he became the director general and a columnist of the ''Diario de Baja California'' newspaper, which began a career in media ownership for Bonilla. Through his company PSN (originally an acronym for Pacific Spanish Network, now Primer Sistema de Noticias), he directly operates XESS-AM 620 and XESDD-AM 1030 in Tijuana.
