Xie Fang
Xie Fang (; born November 1, 1935) is a Chinese actress and author. She is best known for her involvement with pre-Cultural Revolution cinema. Life and career Xie was born in Huangpi, Hubei, China and grew up in Shanghai. Both of her parents were teachers at a Christian school. Her parents became increasingly involved with the Communist Party of China; this would influence her career by acting in more "revolutionary" plays like ''The White Haired Girl''. She graduated from an all-girls' high school in 1951, and started acting shortly after. She joined acting troupe SOUTH backstage and began singing in the opera. Xie married in 1957. In 1959, Xie starred in ''Song of Youth''; this was her break out role. She signed with Beijing Film Studio in 1963. Xie, then, would star in the Xie Jin film ''Two Stage Sisters'' in 1964. Huangpi District
Huangpi District () is one of 13 urban districts of the prefecture-level city of Wuhan, the capital of Hubei Province, China, situated on the northern (left) bank of the Yangtze River. The Sheshui enters the Yangtze at Huangpi. The district is primarily rural, but also includes important infrastructure facilities, such as Wuhan Tianhe International Airport and Wuhan North Railway Station, which is one of the main freight stations and classification yards on the Beijing–Guangzhou Railway. It is the northernmost of Wuhan's districts as well as the most spacious. On the left bank of the Yangtze, it borders the districts of Xinzhou to the east, and Jiang'an to the south, and Dongxihu to the southwest; on the opposite bank, it borders Hongshan. ''The Chinese Widow'' (), also known as ''In Harm's Way'' and ''The Hidden Soldier'', is a 2017 Chinese war drama film directed by Danish director Bille August, starring Liu Yifei and Emile Hirsch. The film premiered at the 2017 Shanghai International Film Festival as the opening film and was released on 10 November 2017 in mainland China. Plot Jack is an American Air Force pilot with a mission to carry out the first US bombing run on Tokyo. The cinema of China is one of three distinct historical threads of Chinese-language cinema together with the cinema of Hong Kong and the cinema of Taiwan. Cinema was introduced in China in 1896 and the first Chinese film, '' Dingjun Mountain'', was made in 1905. In the early decades the film industry was centered on Shanghai. The 1920s was dominated by small studios and commercial films, especially in the action wuxia genre. Golden Phoenix Awards (), China's equivalent to the Screen Actors Guild Awards, is a bi-annual accolade given by the China Film Performance Art Academy to recognize outstanding performances in film. In 1987, the first annual awards ceremony held in Guangzhou. Because the Society Award is the only regular category that judges the actors' performances, there are multiple winners in the category. Honorary Awards are given to actors aged 60–70, while the Lifetime Achievement Award is given to actors who are over 80 years old.
