Xe-Tu
''XE-TU'' was a Spanish-language television program broadcast by Televisa in Mexico from 1982 to 1987. It was created by Reynaldo López and produced by Carla Estrada. Format XE-TU was a variety weekly show, which had contests, music and entertainment acts, which was hosted by René Casados, Erika Buenfil, Victoria Ruffo, Gabriela Rivero, Marcela Páez, Daniel Martín, Jorge Alberto Aguilera, Roxana de Antuñano, Adela Noriega, Gabriela Michel, among others. It had a duration of half an hour and it became a very popular program in the youth segment. The program was broadcast from Monday to Friday at 7:00 p.m. through the Canal de las Estrellas (channel 2). Several music and acting Mexican stars emerged from the show. Casados at the beginning of the broadcasts, would say as part of his greeting "always smile and the force will be with you", which was a catch phrase that became popular in Mexico during those years. Gabriela Rivero
Gabriela Rivero Abaroa (born September 15, 1964 in Mexico City, Mexico), better known as Gaby Rivero, is an actress and singer. Best remembered for portraying Maestra Jimena (character played in telenovelas Carrusel and Carrusel de las Américas). Biography Gabriela Rivero Abaroa was born on September 15, 1964 in Mexico City. She is the daughter of Maria de Lourdes Abaroa and Mario Rivero. She began her career as a model and dancer. In 1984 she hosted the children's show Xe-Tu with René Casados, also guest-starring in the La Hora del Gane show. Carla Estrada (born Carla Patricia Estrada Guitrón on March 11, 1956 in Mexico City, D.F., Mexico) is a Mexican television producer, one of the foremost telenovela producers of Latin America. Biography In 2005, the Mexican government decided to place a statue of the producer in one of Mexico City's most important parks and on January, 2007 she appeared on ''People En Español'''s list of The 100 Most Influential Hispanics in the world. Sombrero Verde
A sombrero (Spanish , ) is a type of wide-brimmed Mexican men's hat used to shield the face and eyes from the sun. It usually has a high pointed crown, an extra-wide brim (broad enough to cast a shadow over the head, neck and shoulders of the wearer) that is slightly upturned at the edge, and a chin strap to hold it in place. In Mexico, this hat type is known as a ("charro hat", referring to the traditional Mexican horsemen). In Spanish, any wide-brimmed hat may be considered a sombrero. Flans
Flans are an all-female Mexican music group, which enjoyed popularity from the mid-1980s to the early 1990s. Its members were the singers Ivonne Margarita Guevara García, Ilse María Olivo Schweinfurth and Irma Angélica Hernández Ochoa. They were generally known as Ivonne, Ilse, and Mimí. Career Beginnings The three girls were initially cast in the mid-1980s for a TV show to be called ''Fans'', which was to feature chats and sing-alongs with guest stars. María de los Ángeles Felisa Santamaría Espinosa (born 2 August 1947), professionally known as Massiel, is a Spanish pop singer. She won the Eurovision Song Contest 1968 with the song "La, la, la", beating the British pop singer Cliff Richard's "Congratulations". ''Timbiriche'' (also known for a brief time as ''La Banda Timbiriche'') is a Mexican pop music group. Parchís (group)
Parchís was a children's music group from Spain which enjoyed great success in the Spanish-speaking world in the 1980s. Their significance in Hispanic popular culture comes from being perceived as an archetype of this type of band at the time. Parchís' original five members were Constantino Fernández Fernández (the red pawn), Yolanda Ventura Román (the yellow pawn), Oscar Ferrer Cañadas (the blue pawn), Gemma Prat Termens (the green pawn), and David Muñoz Forcada (the rolling die, which is singular for dice).
