Xavier Hutchinson
Xavier Hutchinson (born June 1, 2000) is an American football wide receiver for the Iowa State Cyclones. High school career Hutchinson attended Bartram Trail High School in St. Johns, Florida. As a senior, he had 74 receptions for 1,004 receiving yards and 11 touchdowns College career Hutchinson attended Blinn College for two years before transferring to Iowa State University. In his two years at Blinn, he had 58 receptions for 961 yards and seven touchdowns. In his first year at Iowa State in 2020, Hutchinson started all 12 games and led the Big 12 with 64 receptions for 771 yards with four touchdowns. In 2021, he started 12 of 13 games and had a school-record 83 receptions for 987 yards and five touchdowns. 2021 Iowa State Cyclones Football Season
The 2021 Iowa State Cyclones football team represented Iowa State University during the 2021 NCAA Division I FBS football season. The Cyclones played their home games at the Jack Trice Stadium in Ames, Iowa, and competed in the Big 12 Conference. The team was coached by sixth-year head coach Matt Campbell, who received an extension the previous offseason. Iowa State began the season ranked seventh in the AP Poll, the highest preseason ranking ever achieved by the Cyclones. Previous season The Cyclones finished the 2020 regular season 9–3 and 8–1 in Big 12 play to finish first in the conference. They appeared in the 2020 Big 12 Championship Game for the first time in program history, where they lost to Oklahoma by six points. The 2022 NFL Draft was the 87th edition of the National Football League's annual draft and was held from April 28–30, 2022, at the Caesars Forum on the Las Vegas Strip in Paradise, Nevada. The first round was held on Thursday, April 28, and was followed by the second and third rounds on Friday, April 29. The draft concluded with rounds 4–7 on Saturday, April 30. It was the first draft to be held in the Las Vegas metropolitan area. The first five selections were defensive players, the second-most taken at the start of a draft after the six in 1991.
