Albert Xavier Eluère (8 September 1897 – 5 February 1967) was a French heavyweight professional boxer. He competed in the 1920s and was born in Issé. Eluère won a bronze medal in the 1920 Summer Olympics, losing against Danish boxer Søren Petersen Søren Peter Petersen (December 6, 1894 – 1945) was a Danish heavyweight professional boxer who competed in the 1920s and 1930s. Boxing At The Summer Olympics
Boxing has been contested at every Summer Olympic Games since its introduction to the program at the 1904 Summer Olympics, except for the 1912 Summer Olympics in Stockholm, because Swedish law banned the sport at the time. The 2008 Summer Olympics were the final games with boxing as a male only event. Since the 2012 Summer Olympics, women's boxing is part of the program. The number of weight classes has changed over the years (currently 8 for men and 5 for women), and the definition of each class has changed several times, as shown in the following table. Søren Peter Petersen (December 6, 1894 – 1945) was a Danish heavyweight professional boxer who competed in the 1920s and 1930s. He was born in Kolding and died in Belgium. Petersen won a silver medal in boxing at the 1920 Summer Olympics, losing to British boxer Ronald Rawson in the final. Petersen was knocked down seven times in the first three rounds of the fight, at the time an Olympic record; he did not knock Rawson down a single time in the fight.
