Xan De Waard
Xan de Waard (born 8 November 1995) is a Dutch field hockey player. De Waard has played 150 international matches for the Netherlands women's national field hockey team. She was a member of the Dutch team that won the 2014 Women's Hockey World Cup. Renkum (village)
Renkum is the name of a village in the municipality of Renkum. In the early days, the name of the village was written as ''Redinchem''. In the 19th century, Renkum developed itself. There existed six paper mills, three water-cornmills and one water-oil mill. There were two factories, a treacle factory and a Potato flour, potato starch-flour factory. Hockey Champions Trophy
The Hockey Champions Trophy (HCT) was an international field hockey tournament held by the International Hockey Federation (FIH). History Founded in 1978 by Pakistan's Air Marshal Nur Khan and the Pakistan Hockey Federation, it featured the world's top-ranked field hockey teams competing in a round robin format. A biennial women's tournament was added in 1987. The Champions Trophy was changed from an annual to a biennial event from 2014 onwards, due to the introduction of the Hockey World League (HWL). Field hockey at the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro took place from 6 to 19 August at the Olympic Hockey Centre in Deodoro. The competition had instituted several changes in the format and structure from the 2012 Summer Olympics. Twenty-four teams (twelve each for men and women) competed in the tournament. The Royal Dutch Hockey Association ( nl, Koninklijke Nederlandse Hockey Bond, KNHB) is the official governing body of Field hockey in the Netherlands. Field Hockey
Field hockey is a team sport structured in standard hockey format, in which each team plays with ten outfield players and a goalkeeper. Teams must drive a round hockey ball by hitting it with a hockey stick towards the rival team's shooting circle and then into the goal. The match is won by the team that scores the most goals. Matches are played on grass, watered turf, artificial turf, synthetic field, or indoor boarded surface. The stick is made of wood, carbon fibre, fibreglass, or a combination of carbon fibre and fibreglass in different quantities.
