X (Liberty X Album)
''X'' is the third and final studio album to be released by British-Irish pop group Liberty X, released on 10 October 2005. The album was the band's first release on the Virgin Records label, after being dropped from V2 Records in 2004. The album was released two years after their previous album, ''Being Somebody''. The album was the least successful of their three studio albums, only peaking at number 27 on the UK Albums Chart and selling less than 50,000 copies. Background After being dropped from the V2 Records label, the band were quick to sign a record deal with rival label Virgin Records, and began recording their third studio album in April 2005. The label decided the band should experiment with their sound, and thus, enlisted the help of their long-time collaborators Goldust and Lucas Secon, as well as working with new collaborators, including Jud Mahoney, Pete "Boxsta" Martin and Johnny Douglas. Liberty X
Liberty X (originally called Liberty) are a British-Irish group originally consisting of Michelle Heaton, Tony Lundon, Kevin Simm, Jessica Taylor and Kelli Young. The group was formed by the five finalists of the 2001 ITV talent show ''Popstars'' who failed to make it into the winning group Hear'Say. In 2013 Liberty X's full members returned for the ITV2 documentary series ''The Big Reunion'' and toured until 2014. Since 2017, Heaton, Taylor and Young have performed as a girls trio. The group released their debut album, '' Thinking It Over'', on 27 May 2002 which featured their biggest single " Just a Little", which gave them international success. They released their second studio album ''Being Somebody'' a year later on 3 November 2003, although not matching the success of their debut. UK Albums Chart
The Official Albums Chart is a list of albums ranked by physical and digital sales and (from March 2015) audio streaming in the United Kingdom. It was published for the first time on 22 July 1956 and is compiled every week by the Official Charts Company (OCC) on Fridays (previously Sundays). It is broadcast on BBC Radio 1 (top 5) and found on the OCC website as a Top 100 or on UKChartsPlus as a Top 200, with positions continuing until all sales have been tracked in data only available to industry insiders. However, even though number 100 was classed as a hit album (as in the case of The Guinness Book of British Hit Albums) in the 1980s until January 1989, since the compilations were removed this definition was changed to Top 75 with follow-up books such as The Virgin Book of British Hit Albums book only including this data. Michael Harwood (musician)
Michael Stewart Harwood (born 12 December 1975) is an English producer, songwriter and recording artist manager. He was formerly the guitarist for the band Ultra. Biography Harwood was born in London and lives in Northwood, London, England. Before joining Ultra, he attended City University London and majored in Business studies and Financial Markets. He went to school with two Ultra members, James Hearn was his class mate and Jon O'Mahony a couple of years older. Jessica Taylor
Jessica Pietersen (; born 23 June 1980) is a British singer, television personality and dancer who was a member of the pop group Liberty X. Personal life As a teenager she was a member of the Preston Musical Comedy Society and played the title role in a 1999 production of '' Gigi''. On 29 December 2007, she married England cricketer Kevin Pietersen at a service in Castle Combe, Wiltshire, with Pietersen's former England teammate Darren Gough as best man. Their first child, a son named Dylan Blake Pietersen, was born on 10 May 2010. Their second child, a daughter named Rosie, was born on 27 December 2015. Kevin Ian Simm (born 5 September 1980) is an English pop singer. He won ''The Voice UK'' on 9 April 2016. Simm was in the group Liberty X from 2001 until their split in 2007, and is currently the lead singer of the group Wet Wet Wet. Early life Simm was born on 5 September 1980 in Chorley, Lancashire, England. He attended St Anne's Primary School then St. Mary's Catholic Technology College in Leyland between 1991 and 1996, where he showed promise as a junior footballer. In his last year in secondary school, he performed Elton John's " Daniel" in the school's annual show. Simm decided to concentrate on music and joined a local indie band called AnAlien where he began writing his own material. ''Thinking It Over'' is the debut studio album by British-Irish pop group Liberty X. The album was released on the back of their success on television talent show, ''Popstars'', and was recorded in the year following the series' finale, where the band became runners-up to Hear'Say. Originally titled—and released in Japan as—''To Those Who Wait'', it was released in the United Kingdom on 27 May 2002 under its new title and became the biggest selling album of the band's career, selling nearly 750,000 copies. Five singles were released from the album: " Thinking It Over", " Doin' It", " Just a Little", "Got to Have Your Love" and " Holding On for You". Shalamar
Shalamar () is an American R&B and soul music vocal group active since the late 1970s and throughout the 1980s. Shalamar's classic line-up on the SOLAR label consisted of Howard Hewett, Jody Watley, and Jeffrey Daniel, together with dancer Jermaine Stewart. It was originally a disco-driven group created by '' Soul Train'' booking agent Dick Griffey and show creator and producer Don Cornelius. They went on to be an influential dance trio, masterminded by Cornelius. As noted in the ''British Hit Singles & Albums'', they were regarded as fashion icons and trendsetters, and helped to introduce " body-popping" to the United Kingdom.
