XXV Army Corps (Italy)
The XXV Army Corps ( it, XXV Corpo d'Armata) was an infantry corps of the Royal Italian Army during World War I, the Italian invasion of Albania, and the Greco-Italian War and the subsequent Italian occupation of Greece during World War II. History The XXV Corps was first established in Mortegliano on 10 April 1917, until its disbandment on 5 January 1919. On 24 October 1940, in preparation for the Italian invasion of Greece on the 28th, the Ciamuria Army Corps was activated in Italian-occupied Albania, with the 23rd ''Ferrara'' and 51st ''Siena'' infantry divisions and the ''Centauro'' Armoured Division. It was assigned the western (right) half of the Italian front, and on the start of the war advanced into Greek territory until it was stopped in the Battle of Elaia–Kalamas. The Royal Italian Army ( it, Regio Esercito, , Royal Army) was the land force of the Kingdom of Italy, established with the proclamation of the Kingdom of Italy. During the 19th century Italy started to unify into one country, and in 1861 Manfredo Fanti signed a decree creating the Army of the Two Sicilies. Derviçan
Derviçan ( sq-definite, Derviçani; gr, Δερβιτσάνη, ''Dervitsani'', also known as Dervician) is a settlement in the former Dropull i Poshtëm municipality, Gjirokastër County, southern Albania. At the 2015 local government reform it became part of the municipality Dropull. It is within the larger Dropull region. The village is inhabited solely by Greeks. Battle Of Trebeshina
The Battle of Trebeshina ( el, Μάχη της Τρεμπεσίνας) or the Battle of Mal Trebeshinë, was a series of engagements fought between the Greek and Italian armies in south-eastern Albania during the Greco-Italian War. The twenty-day battle was fought on the strategic heights that made up the long Trebeshinë mountain range, notably Height 1923. Following the Greek capture of the strategic Këlcyrë/Klisura Pass on 10 January, four Italian divisions and one Blackshirt division of the Italian XXV Army Corps under Gen. Kurvelesh (region)
Kurvelesh is a region in southern Albania, within the Southern Mountain Range. In the region, which is divided into the communes of Brataj, Horë-Vranisht, Kurvelesh and Picar, fifteen villages are located. It is considered to be the heart of the larger Labëria region. The Kurvelesh region is inhabited by Lab Albanians. Shëndelli
Shëndelli () is a mountain located in the municipality of Tepelenë, in southern Albania. Situated at the emergence of the Shëndelli- Lunxhëri- Bureto mountain range, its highest elevation is . Geology Shëndelli is bordered by the Vjosa valley to the west and the Mezhgoran and Maricaj stream valleys to the east, separating it from the Trebeshinë mountain. It stretches from the Lutfinjë river valley in the north to the mouth of Këlcyrë in the south at a length of about with a northwest-southeast orientation. The mountain is primarily composed of limestone. Its ridge is flat, with a gradual decline towards the north. As a result of karst phenomena, surface water flows are absent.
