Toompea Castle
Toompea castle ( et, Toompea loss) is a medieval castle on Toompea hill in the central part of Tallinn, the capital of Estonia. In modern times, it houses the Parliament of Estonia. History The Toompea castle's predecessor, an ancient Estonian stronghold had been in use since at least the 9th century AD. In 1219, the castle was taken over by Denmark's crusaders led by king Valdemar II. According to a popular Danish legend, the flag of Denmark (''Dannebrog'') fell from the sky during a critical stage of the battle (known as the Battle of Lindanise). Estonian Greens
The Estonian Greens ( et, Erakond Eestimaa Rohelised, EER) is a green political party in Estonia. Founded in 2006, the party held six seats in the Riigikogu from 2007 to 2011. Its objective is to ensure that Estonia's development is environmentally friendly, sustainable, politically stable and economically efficient. History 1990s The Estonian Green Movement ( et, Eesti Roheline Liikumine) was founded by Juhan Aare in May 1988. Siim Kallas
Siim Kallas (; born 2 October 1948) is an Estonian politician, former Prime Minister of Estonia, and former European Commissioner. He served as the European Commissioner for Transport between 2010 and 2014. Before that he was the European Commissioner for Administrative Affairs, Audit and Anti-Fraud between 2004 and 2009. Ivi Eenmaa
Ivi Eenmaa (born 2 June 1943) is an Estonian politician. She was the head of the Estonian National Library from 1993 to 1997. Yoko Alender
Yoko Alender (born 13 June 1979, in Tallinn) is an Estonian architect, civil servant and a politician. She is a member of the XIV Estonian Parliament the Riigikogu, and acts as chair for the Environment Committee. She was also a member of the XIII Estonian Parliament in 2015-19. Since 2014, she is a member of the liberal Reform Party. From 2013 to 2014, Alender belonged to conservative Pro Patria and Res Publica Union. The Riigikogu (; from Estonian ''riigi-'', of the state, and ''kogu'', assembly) is the unicameral parliament of Estonia. An independent or non-partisan politician is a politician not affiliated with any political party or bureaucratic association.
