XHYD-FM is a radio station on 105.1 FM in Francisco I. Madero, Coahuila, Mexico. The station is operated by GPS Media and carries its Capullo FM variety hits format. History XHYD began as XEYD-AM 1410, with a concession awarded to Alejandro Rodríguez Morán on November 22, 1971. The station migrated to FM in 2011 and sold in 2015. In 2020, GPS Media was born, taking control of several stations, including XHYD-FM. All of the stations operated by the new group were rebranded. Comarca Lagunera
The Comarca Lagunera or La Comarca de la Laguna ("region of lagoons") is a region of northern Mexico occupying large portions of the states of Durango and Coahuila, with rich soils produced by periodic flooding of the Nazas and Aguanaval rivers. Neither river drains into either the Pacific Ocean or the Gulf of Mexico, but rather they created a series of inland lakes. The region was developed for large-scale irrigated cotton agriculture. During the Mexican Revolution, the region was the site of fierce fighting. Following the military phase of the Revolution, the region was part of the agrarian reform under President Lázaro Cárdenas. The dam named for Cárdenas now controls flooding of the rivers, but the groundwater resources are no longer recharged as a result. It is the 8th largest metropolitan area in Mexico. XHVK-FM is a radio station on 106.7 FM in Gómez Palacio, Durango Gómez Palacio is a city and its surrounding municipality in northeastern Durango, Mexico, adjacent to the border of the state of Coahuila. History XHVK began as XEVK-AM 1010, with a concession awarded to Emisoras de Torreón, S.A., property of José Luis de la Rosa, on January 23, 1962. Before even going on air, XEVK went on strike, because the National Union of Radio Station Employees wanted a collective contract signed for the new station. It migrated to FM in 2011 on 106.7 MHz.
