XHTW-FM
XHTW-FM is a radio station on 94.9 FM serving Tampico, Tamaulipas, Mexico. It is owned by Multimedios Radio and carries its La Lupe variety hits format. History José Expedito Martínez was cleared to begin broadcasts of XETW-AM on January 21, 1961. The station was sold to the Flores family in 1963, and until the 1990s it broadcast with 500 watts. XHTW was cleared to migrate to FM in 2011, originally broadcasting on 107.1 MHz from 6 am to 12 am each day. In September 2016, Grupo Flores ceded operation of its radio stations to Multimedios Radio, transferring XHON-FM's concession to Multimedios along with operation of XHFW and XHTW. At the time, XHTW took on a Spanish romantic format known as Radio Recuerdo. XHFW-FM/XEFW-AM is a radio station in Tampico, operating on 88.5 FM. It's owned and operated by Multimedios Radio. 810 AM is a United States clear-channel frequency; KGO and WGY share Class A status on this frequency. History XEFW-AM 1240 received its concession in 1932. The 70-watt station owned by José Expedito Martínez until 1937, when the Flores family entered broadcasting by way of a joint partnership with Martínez. XEFW later moved to 810 kHz and ramped up its power to 50,000 watts day and night, earning it the distinction of being a border blaster in the eyes of some. In the 1980s, XEFW cut its power back to 10,000 watts day and a mere 250 watts at night, later boosted back to 50,000/1,000. The station was now exclusively owned by the Flores family, which had built a local cluster featuring XEFW, AM sister XETW-AM 860, XHON-FM 96.1, and XHFW-TV channel 9. XHON-FM
XHON-FM (branded as Classic) is a Mexican Spanish-language FM radio station that serves the Tampico, Tamaulipas market area. It broadcasts mainly classic and modern music in English. History XHON received its concession on July 11, 1980. It was owned by Víctor Flores Meza. In 2016 the Flores family transferred operation of its stations to Multimedios Radio Multimedios Radio is the radio division of Grupo Multimedios, operating 31 radio stations in northern and central Mexico. XHTAO-TDT
XHTAO-TDT channel 14 (virtual channel 6) is a Canal 6 (Mexico), Multimedios Television affiliate in Tampico, Tamaulipas. Before the analog shutdown, XHTAO's audio signal could be heard at 87.7 MHz on FM radios, though at a slightly lower volume than other FM stations, due to technical reasons. After the analog shutdown, this couldn't be possible due to the nature of digital TV. Programming XHTAO broadcasts a large amount of local programming, including local editions of Multimedios's flagship news program ''Telediario''. The digital station began operations on August 1, 2012. XHTAO has one digital repeater, in Gustavo Garmendia, San Luis Potosí. In March 2018, in order to facilitate the repacking of TV services out of the 600 MHz band (channels 38-51), XHTAO was assigned channel 14 for continued digital operations.
