XHSH-FM
XHSH-FM is a radio station in Mexico City. Broadcasting on 95.3 FM, XHSH-FM carries contemporary music in Spanish from the 1990s until the present, with a focus on romantic songs under the name "Amor". History XHSH-FM's history begins with a concession awarded in 1964 to Narciso Solis Huerta, who eventually sold it to FM Radio, S.A. by 1968. The station was launched by FM Radio in 1970 as "Radio Amistad", carrying a contemporary music format in English and Spanish. In 1986, the station became "Stereo Nova", simulcasting XEL-AM 1260 and carrying youth music in Spanish. It returned to its old name as "Stereo Amistad" in 1988, with English-language contemporary music, jazz and New Age. The name was kept when the station changed to Spanish-language pop and romance music in 1993, but the station became "Mix 95.3", with English contemporary music, a year later. XEL-AM
XEL-AM is a radio station in Los Reyes Acaquilpan, State of Mexico, serving Mexico City. Broadcasting on 1260 kHz, XEL-AM is owned by Grupo ACIR. The station is known as La Comadre with a grupera format. History The first concession for what would become XEL was actually for a station on 1140 kHz with the call sign XETA, made to Manuel Espinosa Tagle on August 16, 1932. The station spent the next 17 years under a revolving door of owners: Esperanza Romero González, Banco Capitalizador de Ahorros, Financiera de Inversiones, Ramón Ferreiro Rodriguez, Fidel Hernández Calderón, and finally stability under Radio Impulsora Hérdez, S.A. The station became XEL-AM by the 1950s and moved to 1260 kHz in the 1960s. The station for most of its life carried the name "Radio Capital". Grupera
Grupera (also known as Grupero or Onda Grupera) is a genre of Regional Mexican music. It reached the height of its popularity in the 1990s, especially in rural areas. The music has roots in the rock groups of the 1960s, but today generally consists of four or more musicians using electric guitars, keyboards and drums.
