XHR-FM is a radio station on 105.7 FM in Linares, Nuevo León, Mexico. It carries the La Caliente format from its owner, Multimedios Radio Multimedios Radio is the radio division of Grupo Multimedios, operating 31 radio stations in northern and central Mexico. Owned since day one by La Voz de Linares, S.A. (now the concessionaire for six Multimedios Radio stations including XHLN), it broadcast with 1,000 watts on 790 kHz. XHLN-FM is a radio station on 104.9 FM in Linares, Nuevo León, Mexico. It is owned by Multimedios Radio and carries its La Lupe variety hits format. History XER-AM received its concession on August 23, 1943, restoring the call sign to use for the first time since the closure of John R. Brinkley's XER in Villa Acuña a decade earlier. XER was owned by XER Radio Linares, S.A., and broadcast on 1260 kHz with 1,000 watts. The station eventually was bought by Multimedios. Linares, Nuevo León
Linares is a small city in the state of Nuevo León, Mexico. The city serves as the administrative centre for the surrounding municipality of the same name and it is the largest urban centre of the so-called "orange belt" region. The city had a 2005 census population of 56,065, while the municipality's population was 71,061. The city and the municipality both rank tenth in population in the state. The municipality has an area of 2,445.2 km² (944.1 sq mi) and lies in the east-southeast part of the state on the border with the state of Tamaulipas. The municipality of Hualahuises is an enclave of Linares municipality. It was founded on 2 April 1712 by Sebastián Villegas Cumplido and named in honour of the serving Viceroy of New Spain, Fernando de Alencastre Norona y Silva, Duke of Linares.
