XHDP-FM is a radio station on 89.7 FM in Ciudad Cuauhtémoc, Chihuahua. The station is owned by Grupo BM Radio, the radio business of the Beltrán Montes family, and carries a ranchera format known as La Ranchera de Cuauhtémoc. History XHDP began as XEDP-AM 710, receiving its concession on June 7, 1976 and becoming the first station in Grupo BM Radio. The 5 kW daytimer later began broadcasting at night; by the AM-FM migration, it was operating at 7 kW day and 100 watts night. It migrated to FM in 2011, originally receiving the 92.9 frequency that became XHER-FM in a swap between the two related stations. XHER-FM is a radio station on 92.9 FM in Ciudad Cuauhtémoc, Chihuahua. The station is owned by Grupo BM Radio, the radio business of the Beltrán Montes family, and carries a romantic format known as Amor 92.9. History XHER began as XEER-AM 990, receiving its concession on October 15, 1954. It was owned by Eduardo Rivas Trujillo. Israel Beltrán Montes
Israel Beltrán Montes (29 March 1947 – 2 March 2022) was a Mexican businessman and politician affiliated with the Institutional Revolutionary Party (PRI). He served as Deputy of the LV and LX Legislatures of the Mexican Congress representing Chihuahua and also spent two terms as municipal president of Ciudad Cuauhtémoc. Life and career Beltrán Montes was born in 1947 and studied to become a teacher from 1963 to 1966. Beltrán Montes first made his appearance in the PRI in the 1970s, serving for nearly a decade as secretary of the Municipal Directive Committee (CDM) of the PRI in Chihuahua. After a decade away from politics, he became the head of the CDM in 1990. The next year, he was sent to the LV Legislature as a federal deputy from the now-defunct tenth district. After his term ended in 1994, Beltrán Montes founded Grupo BM Radio, beginning with station XEDP in Ciudad Cuauhtémoc. Cuauhtémoc (; Mennonite Low German: ''Cuauhtemoc-Staut'') is a city located in the west-central part of the Mexican state of Chihuahua. It serves as the seat of the municipality of Cuauhtémoc. The city lies 103 km (64 mi) west of the state capital of Chihuahua. As of 2015, the city of Cuauhtémoc had a population of 168,482. 3 languages are recognized as official in the city: Spanish, English, and Plautdietsch. The population in 1953 was just under 3,000, composed almost entirely of Mexicans with the exception of foreign-born people who have gone there as traders.
