XHACA-FM
XHACA-FM is a radio station on 96.1 FM in Acapulco, Guerrero. It is part of Radio Fórmula. History XEIZ-AM 630 received its concession on November 10, 1964. It quickly became XEACA-AM and broadcast with 5,000 watts on 630 kHz. XEACA moved to 950 kHz in the 1990s and was sold to Grupo ACIR, carrying its Radio ACIR and Radio Felicidad formats. ACIR shed the station in 2009 to a concessionaire owned by Efrén Huerta RodrÃguez and Roberto AgustÃn Shimidzu Castro on behalf of Grupo Fórmula. In November 2010, XEACA was approved to migrate to FM on 106.3 MHz as XHACA-FM. However, 106-108 MHz was designated in 2014 as a reserved band for community and indigenous radio stations. As 96.1 MHz was available for a Class B1 station, the Federal Telecommunications Institute ordered XHACA to move to 96.1 in the near future upon renewing its concession in 2017; the change took place on January 30, 2021. Grupo ACIR is a Mexican media company specializing in the operation of radio stations. It was established in 1965. ACIR is an acronym for ''Asociación de Concesionarios Independientes de Radio'' (Association of Independent Radio Concessionaires). History Grupo ACIR was founded on June 8, 1965, when Francisco Ibarra bought the XEDQ-AM (Radio AlegrÃa) station in San Andrés Tuxtla, Veracruz. XHZ-FM
XHZ-FM is a radio station on 105.1 FM in Mérida, Yucatán, Mexico. History XHZ is among southern Mexico's oldest radio stations. It traces its lineage to a station operated by Jorge L. Palomeque and authorized on March 12, 1935 (with a concession key of March 1, 1933). XEZ-AM broadcast on 630 kilohertz with a power of 500 watts. Palomeque sold the station to La Voz de la PenÃnsula, S.A. in 1955. By the 1960s, XEZ had moved to 600 and broadcast with 2,000 watts of power. In the 1980s, it further increased its daytime power to 5 kilowatts, and in 2001, Radio Fórmula bought XEZ. In 2010, XEZ was authorized to move to FM. Radio Fórmula is a Mexican talk radio network. Founded in 1968, Radio Fórmula programs are broadcast on more than 100 stations in Mexico as well as several stations in the United States. It is the flagship product of Grupo Fórmula, which also owns the TeleFórmula cable news network and PM Onstreet, an outdoor advertising firm. History Grupo Formula traces its beginnings to 1968, when several Mexico City stations were split from Emilio Azcárraga Vidaurreta’s Radiópolis system. Among these was XEDF-AM 970.
