XETIA-AM
XETIA-AM is a radio station on 1310 AM in Tonalá, Jalisco. It is owned by Unidifusión and carries a romantic music format known as Radio Vital. History XEJE-AM received its concession on March 9, 1945. It was owned by Guillermo Johnston and broadcast with 250 watts. XEJE became XETIA-AM by the 1960s and was sold twice, once to Radiodifusoras de Occidente in 1960, and again to Radio Sinfonía, S.A. in 1967. This latter owner succeeded in obtaining a sister FM station for XETIA, XETIA-FM. Power was raised from 1 to 5 kW in the 1980s and again to 10 kW by the 2000s. In early 2019, XETIA-AM ditched its Radio Vital health talk format for Sabrosita, programmed by Mexico City-based NRM Comunicaciones and largely a simulcast of its XEPH-AM XEPH-AM is a radio station in Mexico City. XETIA-FM is a radio station on 97.9 FM in Guadalajara. The station is owned by Unidifusión and is known as Fórmula Melódica with a romantic format. History XETIA-FM received its first concession on June 24, 1968. It was owned by Radio Sinfonia, S.A., along with XETIA-AM 1310 (which remains co-owned). Originally assigned 97.3 MHz, as station spacing needed to be changed, it moved to 97.9 in the 1970s. The current concessionaire took control in 2000. XEAD-AM
XEAD-AM is a radio station on 1150 kHz in Guadalajara, Jalisco. It is known as Radio Metrópoli and carries a news/talk format. History Alejandro Díaz obtained the original XEAD concession and began operations from Aguascalientes in 1936. The station moved to Guadalajara in 1939. By 1953, the station was known as Radio Centro de Jalisco, competing mainly against XEAV-AM, XEAV "Canal 58". In 1964, XEAD-FM came to life on 101.9 FM; it remains co-owned with XEAD-AM. In the early 1970s, the Inforjal (Información Jalisco) news service was created, serving much of western Mexico and the Bajío region. Tonalá () is a city and municipality within the Guadalajara Metropolitan Area in the state of Jalisco in Mexico. XEPH-AM is a radio station in Mexico City. Broadcasting on 590 AM, XEPH-AM is owned by NRM Comunicaciones and broadcasts a tropical music format under the brand name Sabrosita. History The XEPH concession was awarded in November 1940, with the station coming to air in 1942. After moving in a rock direction for years, in August 1967, the station became rock-formatted "La Pantera" (The Panther). In 1987, the station became Spanish modern rock-formatted Espacio 59, only to go back to 1960s and 1970s rock in December 1989.
