Wyoming Highway 32 (WYO 32) is Wyoming state highway known locally as Emblem Highway. The highway is located in northwestern Big Horn County and travels from the unincorporated community of Emblem north along the Park- Big Horn county line north to the town of Byron and east to Lovell. Route description Wyoming Highway 32 has its southern end at US 14 / US 16 / US 20 in the community of Emblem, east of Wyoming Highway 30's western terminus. Highway 32 heads north-northwest from Emblem, and nears the Park county line where Wyoming Highway 295 has its eastern terminus. WYO 32 continues north, paralleling the county line for a distance, but then turns northeast, roughly paralleling the Shoshone River which runs to the north. Emblem, Wyoming
Emblem (also Germania or Liberty Bench) is an unincorporated community in western Big Horn County, Wyoming, United States. The community has an official population of 10, although the surrounding rural area increases the number to over 100. It lies along the concurrent U.S. Routes 14, 16 and 20, west-northwest of the town of Basin, the county seat of Big Horn County. Its elevation is . Although Emblem is unincorporated, it has a post office, with the ZIP code of 82422. History Emblem was founded in 1896 when Solon Wiley's Big Horn Basin Development Company brought irrigation to the Emblem Bench. Lutheran Germans settled there. The area now known as Emblem was once called Germania Bench after a settlement of German Lutherans arrived to farm the land. Big Horn County, Wyoming
Big Horn County is a county in the U.S. state of Wyoming. As of the 2020 United States Census, the population was 11,521. The county seat is Basin. Its north boundary abuts the south boundary of Montana. History Big Horn County was created by the legislature of Wyoming Territory in March 1890, and was organized in 1897; its area was annexed from Fremont, Johnson, and Sheridan counties. Big Horn County was named for the Big Horn Mountains which form its eastern boundary. Wyoming Highway 295 (WYO 295) is a north-south Wyoming state road located in northeastern Park County and western Big Horn County. All but of the route are located in Park County; the southernmost intersection on the highway is in Big Horn County instead. Although predominately a north-south highway, WYO 295 travels east-west for its first 8.7 miles. Shoshone River
The Shoshone River is a long river in northern Wyoming in the United States. Its headwaters are in the Absaroka Range in Shoshone National Forest. It ends when it runs into the Big Horn River near Lovell, Wyoming. Cities it runs near or through are Cody, Powell, Byron, and Lovell. Near Cody, it runs through a volcanically active region of fumaroles known as Colter's Hell. This contributed to the river being named on old maps of Wyoming as the ''Stinking Water River''. The current name was established in 1901 due to popular demand.
