Wyn Geleynse
Wyn Geleynse (born 1947) is a pioneer film and video projection artist whose career spans a period of over 40 years. Career Wyn Geleynse was born in Rotterdam, The Netherlands, and he and his parents emigrated from Rotterdam to London, Ontario, in 1953. The so-called "London Regional School" in art had an impact on Geleynse’s development as an artist, especially Greg Curnoe and Murray Favro and influenced him in making art from his everyday surroundings. He studied at H.B. Beal Secondary School, London, Ontario in the arts program (1963-1966). He at first made drawings, then became a printmaker - he studied lithography in 1972 – then a painter. In 1979, he became involved with film and video. The Peel Art Gallery, Museum and Archives (PAMA) is a museum, art gallery, and archives for the Regional Municipality of Peel and are located in Brampton, Ontario, Canada. Previously, it was the Peel Heritage Complex. Its facilities were originally the Peel County Courthouse, Brampton Jail (also known as the Peel County Gaol), a land registry office, and a county administration building. It is opposite Gage Park and Brampton City Hall. In March 2010, the Peel Heritage Complex closed for extensive renovations and expansion. The Governor General's Awards in Visual and Media Arts are annual awards for achievements in visual and media arts in Canada. Up to eight awards are presented annually with the prize amount is $25,000 Created in 2000 by then Governor General Adrienne Clarkson, the awards is managed by the Canada Council for the Arts. Remai Modern is a public art museum in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Canada. The art museum is situated along the west bank of the South Saskatchewan River, at the River Landing development in Saskatoon's Central Business District. The museum's building was designed by Bruce Kuwabara of KPMB Architects in association with Architecture49. Plans to create a new art museum in Saskatoon emerged after plans to renovate the Mendel Art Gallery were abandoned in 2009. Ron Moppett
Ronald Benjamin Moppett (born March 12, 1945) is a Canadian painter. He is known primarily for abstract paintings and for works in which he combines paint and collage, along with non-traditional materials. Moppett is based in Calgary, Alberta. Biography Moppett was born in England on March 12, 1945, the eldest of four children, and immigrated to Calgary with his family in 1957. He has worked at different times as a curator, gallery director and teacher while pursuing a career as a painter. Selected exhibitions Moppett has been exhibiting since 1966.
