USNS ''Wyman'' (T-AGS-34) was an oceanographic survey vessel laid down on 18 July 1968 by the Defoe Shipbuilding Company of Bay City, Michigan. Launched on 30 October 1969, sponsored by Mrs. Francis J. Blouin, wife of the Deputy Chief of Naval Operations, Vice Admiral Francis J. Blouin; she was accepted by the Military Sealift Command (MSC) on 19 November 1971 at the Boston Naval Shipyard. ''Wyman'', designed and built to conduct hydrographic and oceanographic studies and operated by a civilian crew, served with MSC under the technical direction of the Oceanographer of the Navy. In addition to the MSC crew, who operated and maintained the ship, there was a complement of civilian technicians and scientists aboard who were part of Naval Oceanographic Office (NAVOCEANO). Initially assigned to MSC Atlantic, the ''Wyman'' made several cruises in the North Atlantic, visiting such ports as Reykjavik, Tromso, Bergen, Rota, Lisbon, and Glasgow during the early 1970s. Home Township is a civil township of Montcalm County in the U.S. state of Michigan. As of the 2020 census, the township population was 2,716. Geography The township is in northeastern Montcalm County and is bordered to the north by Isabella County. The village of Edmore is in the south-central part of the township. State highway M-46 crosses the township, passing through Edmore and leading east to St. Louis and west to Lakeview. M-66 runs along the western border of the township south of M-46, leading south to Stanton, the Montcalm county seat. Wyman is an unorganized territory in Franklin County, Maine, United States. The population was 82 at the 2020 census. It is designated as Township 4 Range 3 of Bingham's Kennebec Purchase (West of the Kennebec River). Geography According to the United States Census Bureau, the unorganized territory has a total area of 20.2 square miles (52.2 km2), of which 20.1 square miles (52.0 km2) is land and 0.1 square mile (0.3 km2) (0.50%) is water. Wyman is home to the Bigelow Public Reserve Land, which protects of land around Bigelow Mountain. Wyman's Brook
Wymans Brook is a district in the north-west of Cheltenham, Gloucestershire, England, named after the small river which flows through the district. It is situated relatively close to Cheltenham racecourse, Pittville Park, the Prince of Wales Stadium/ Leisure @ Cheltenham and the area of Cheltenham known as "Swindon Village". Overview The brook itself is dammed at Pittville to form an ornamental lake, and partly culverted as it flows through the district. In 2006 investigation revealed that the brook was suffering from increasing pollution from the Marle Hill landfill site (now a golf course). Before the brook becomes Pittville Lake, it flows through Whaddon (another area of Cheltenham). This is why a road adjoining the Cheltenham Town football ground is called "Wymans Road". Artemas Wyman Sawyer (4 March 1827 – 5 August 1907) was an American Baptist minister and educator. He was the president of Acadia College (now Acadia University) in Nova Scotia, Canada from 1869 to 1896. Born in West Haven, Vermont, the son of the Reverend Reuben Sawyer and Laura Wyman, Sawyer was educated at the New London Academy and received a Bachelor of Arts in 1847 from Dartmouth College. After teaching in Windsor, Vermont for three years he attended the Newton Theological Institute and graduated in 1853. He was then ordained a minister of Baptist church in Lawrence, Massachusetts. From 1855 to 1860, he was a professor of classics at Acadia College.
