Alfred Lee Wyman
Alfred Lee Wyman (December 9, 1874 – December 15, 1953) was a United States district judge of the United States District Court for the District of South Dakota. Education and career Born in Yankton, Dakota Territory (State of South Dakota from November 2, 1889), Wyman read law in 1896 to enter the Bar, and was in private practice in Yankton intermittently from 1896 until 1929. He was state's attorney of Yankton County from 1905 to 1908 and again from 1915 to 1918. He was city attorney of Yankton from 1909 to 1914. He was a member of the South Dakota House of Representatives in 1909, and of the South Dakota Senate in 1911. He was the Mayor of Yankton from 1914 to 1924. Federal judicial service On April 18, 1929, Wyman was nominated by President Herbert Hoover to a new seat on the United States District Court for the District of South Dakota created by 45 Stat. 1317. James Robert Wyman (27 April 1909 – 25 June 1978), also known as Bob Wyman, was a British ice hockey player who played in Great Britain. He also played for the Great Britain national ice hockey team which won the gold medal at the 1936 Winter Olympics. He is a member of the British Ice Hockey Hall of Fame. Wyman was also a successful schoolboy athlete, becoming the English schoolboy long jump champion when he was 15 years old, and speed skater, having held the British indoor half mile record and then winning the 440 yards outdoor crown in January 1934 — a feat which earned a Gallaher cigarette card. During World War II, Wyman served with the Royal Navy and reached the rank of Lieutenant-Commander. A Republican, he was a member of the California State Assembly from 1978 to 1992 and again from 2000 to 2002; he was also a member of the California Senate from 1993 to 1994. Assembly races Wyman was vice president of the Antelope Valley Board of Trade in 1976 when he first ran for California State Assembly from the Tehachapi-Palmdale based 34th District. Morrill Wyman (July 25, 1812 in Chelmsford, Massachusetts – January 30, 1903 in Cambridge, Massachusetts) was an American physician and social reformer. Best known today for his work on hay fever, he was one of the most respected doctors of his time, a social reformer, Harvard overseer, hospital president, and author in his long lifetime. Wyman was the son of Dr. Rufus Wyman, first director of the McLean Asylum, and Elizabeth Morrill. He and his brother Jeffries Wyman (later first curator of the Peabody Museum of Archaeology and Ethnology at Harvard) graduated from Harvard in 1833 and received medical degrees in 1837.
