The Wufengshan Yangtze River Bridge () is a two-decked suspension bridge carrying the Lianyungang–Zhenjiang high-speed railway and the over the Yangtze. With a total length of and a main span of , it is the world's longest span high-speed railway bridge, tied with the Hutong Yangtze River Bridge. History Plans to build a railway bridge at the location had been conceived since the 1960s, but were shelved due to building techniques at the time being insufficient to meet the requirements. Construction was started on 28 October 2015. The structure was closed on 29 December 2019 and the bridge was opened for railway traffic on 11 December 2020. Lianyungang–Zhenjiang High-speed Railway
The Lianyungang–Zhenjiang high-speed railway is a high-speed railway in China. It has a design speed of . History In November 2014, construction was expected to take 4.5 years. The section from Lianyungang to Huai'an opened on 16 December 2019. The remainder was expected to open on 3 December 2020, however this did not go ahead. It opened on 11 December. Route Heading south from Lianyungang, the railway splits from the Qingdao–Yancheng railway after Dongji and continues south, serving Guanyun, Guannan, and Lianshui. The line meets the Xuzhou–Yancheng high-speed railway at Huai'an East but splits again to continue south. Three stations follow: Baoying, Gaoyou North, and Gaoyou. Dantu District
Dantu District () is one of three districts of Zhenjiang, Jiangsu province, China. A development called Dantu New City was constructed in the district and was underoccupied since around 2005 and criticized as a ghost city by international media. However, since 2013 the development has been filling up with residents with many operating shops and offices, becoming a functional suburb of urban Zhenjiang. Hutong Yangtze River Bridge
The Husutong Yangtze River Bridge is a combined rail and road bridge which crosses the Yangtze River in Jiangsu, China. It is the easternmost railway crossing of the Yangtze river. Construction began on 1 March 2014. The Shanghai–Suzhou–Nantong railway (Husutong railway), opened on 1 July 2020, uses this bridge. On its upper level, it carries a six-lane highway.
