Marian Wróbel
Marian Wróbel (1 January 1907 – 25 April 1960) was a prominent Polish chess problemist of the mid-twentieth century. Between 1947 and 1950 he was considered the leading chess composer in the world. During his lifetime he published more than 1,000 problems and was a FIDE International Master of Chess Composition. Biography Born in Lwów (now Lviv) on 1 January 1907, Wróbel learned to play chess as a child of 5 and became interested in chess problems. In 1922, he published his first problem at the age of 15 and in 1928 the International Association of Problemists ranked him fourth in the world. He studied in Lwów and Warsaw and completed a Magister's degree in Polish philology in 1932. He became a teacher but due to health problems transferred to administrative work. Piotr Wróbel
Piotr Jan Wróbel (born 1953) is a Polish-Canadian historian and expert specializing in Polish history and Central and Eastern European history. His academic research revolves around the national minorities of Central and Eastern Europe with special focus on Polish-Jewish relations and the history of Polish Jewry since the Partitions of Poland. Wróbel is currently a Professor in the Department of History at the Faculty of Arts and Science of the University of Toronto, as well as member of the Faculty at the Munk School of Global Affairs at the University of Trinity College in the University of Toronto. Piotr Wróbel received his Doctor of Philosophy degree ( PhD) at the University of Warsaw, where he taught. Paweł Wróbel (born April 24, 1984 in Jasło, Poland) is a Polish organist. Biography Wróbel studied at the Frederic Chopin Academy of Music in Warsaw with Andrzej Chorosiński, the University of Music and Performing Arts in Stuttgart with Jon Laukvik and the University of Music and Performing Arts in Graz with Gunther Rost. In 2012 he received a doctorate in musical arts at the Ignacy Jan Paderewski Academy of Music in Poznań. He had won prizes in international organ competitions, include third prize during Miami International Organ Competition. In 2007 he received a prestigious scholarship from Keimyung Research Foundation at the University of Seoul. Michał Wróbel (born 27 April 1980) is a Polish former professional footballer who played as a goalkeeper. Following retirement, he became a goalkeeping coach.
