Al Worley
Elvin "Al" Worley (August 8, 1946 – December 14, 2020) was an American football player and coach, a defensive back for the University of Washington Huskies from 1966– 68. Worley was named a consensus All-American in 1968, when he set an NCAA record of 14 interceptions in a season. He played for one season for the Seattle Rangers of the Continental Football League in 1969. High school Born in Chelan, Washington and raised in Wenatchee, Worley grew up in a family with ten children. He attended Wenatchee High School and was a three-sport standout in football, basketball, and baseball, finishing as the school's fourth all-time leading scorer in basketball. Rick Worley is an American cartoonist, known primarily for his comic strip ''A Waste of Time''. He is openly gay and lives in San Francisco. Career Worley began the strip ''A Waste of Time'' in 2008. A collection of the strips was published by Northwest Press in 2011, followed by a series of new material beginning in 2014. The strip is about an anthropomorphic rabbit named Rick (a stand-in for the creator) and his friends and associates, which include Truckstop (a sexually adventurous fox), Prester (an alcoholic teddy bear), Rickets (an amnesiac robot), and Capitalist Pig (a piggy bank). Richard Worley (died 1718/19) was a pirate who was active in the Caribbean Sea and the East Coast of the American Colonies during the early 18th century. Piracy He is first recorded leaving New York with a small boat and a crew of eight men hoping to make their fortune in the so-called Golden Age of Piracy. However, their first prize resulted in the capture of household goods from a shallop in the Delaware River near New Castle in September 1718. This attack was technically burglary rather than piracy, as according to British maritime law at the time the attack did not take place in international waters. Local authorities mistakenly attributed the attack to Worley's better-known counterpart Blackbeard, who had raided the same waterways earlier in the year. Paul Worley (born February 16, 1950 in Nashville, Tennessee) is an American record producer and session guitarist, known primarily for his work in country music. Formerly a vice president at Sony BMG, he later joined the staff of Warner Bros. Records' Nashville division as chief creative officer. Since leaving Warner in the early 2000s, Worley has worked mainly as a record producer for other acts, such as Big & Rich, as well as an occasional session guitarist. He is most widely known as the co- producer (with Victoria Shaw) of the self-titled debut album of Lady Antebellum (2008) and as one of the producers of their second album, '' Need You Now'' (2010). Nancy Worley (November 7, 1951 – December 29, 2021) was an American Democratic politician who served as Secretary of State of Alabama from 2003 to 2007 and Chairman of the Alabama Democratic Party from 2013 to 2019. Matt Worley (born 6 September 1997) is a Hong Konger professional rugby union player currently playing for the Bedford Blues in the English RFU Championship. He plays at the fullback and wing positions. Since 2016 Worley has competed for Hong Kong at international level. Leonard Francis Worley (born 26 June 1937) is a former amateur footballer who played for Wycombe Wanderers, Charlton Athletic, Tottenham Hotspur, Chesham United, Wealdstone, Slough Town, Hayes and represented England at amateur level on seven occasions. Playing career Worley began his career with Wycombe Wanderers as a sixteen-year-old in 1954. The right winger became known as the "''Stanley Matthews of amateur football'' " and dedicated much of his career to the Buckinghamshire club. Like his namesake his dribbling skills coupled with accurate crosses helped the club to two Isthmian League titles in 1955–56 and 1956–57. Laura Davis Worley (c. 1849 - August 1937) was a dairy farmer. Early life Laura Davis Worley was born in McMinnville, Tennessee in about 1849, the daughter of Frank and Betty Davis. She was a descendant of Frederick Davis, one of the original settlers of Nashville and niece of Jefferson Davis, president of the Confederacy during the American Civil War. She was graduated in 1865 from St. Cecilia's Convent, in Nashville, where she laid the foundation of a liberal education and devoted much time to the study of music, painting and the French language.
