World Esperantist Vegetarian Association
The World Esperantist Vegetarian Association ( eo, Tutmonda Esperantista Vegetarana Asocio, TEVA) is a voluntary association of Esperanto-speaking vegetarians. Founded in 1908, the group's working language is Esperanto, and it is the oldest international organization of vegetarians that is currently active. TEVA published a journal, ("Vegetarian") from 1914 to 1932, revived in 2009 as ', and has also operated a spirited Internet mailing list through Yahoo! Groups since 2005. International Vegetarian Union
The International Vegetarian Union (IVU) is an international non-profit organization whose purpose is to promote vegetarianism. The IVU was founded in 1908 in Dresden, Germany. It is an umbrella organisation, which includes organisations from many countries, and often organises World and Regional Vegetarian Congresses. These alternate in two-year cycles. Description The ruling body from IVU is the International Council, and the members who form it are unpaid volunteers elected by the Member Societies at each World Vegetarian Congress. Christopher Fettes
Christopher Fettes (born 1937) is an English former teacher, farmer and founder of the Irish Green Party. He is an honorary member of the International Vegetarian Union and of the World Esperanto Association. Life Christopher Fettes was born in Bromley, Kent, England and educated at Clayesmore School, Dorset, and in English and French at the University of Dublin. He taught for a year in France and then for 37 years at Saint Columba's College, Dublin, for most of that time as a housemaster.
