World Archery Rankings
The World Archery Rankings is a ranking system developed by the World Archery Federation for international competitive archery. It is calculated using a points system and published following major World Archery tournaments. The ranking system was first developed in 2001, and calculation method updated in 2010. At present, rankings are maintained for: * Recurve archery: ''Men's Individual, Women's Individual, Men's Team, Women's Team, Mixed Team'' * Compound archery: ''Men's Individual, Women's Individual, Men's Team, Women's Team, Mixed Team'' * Para-archery: ''Recurve Men W2, Recurve Men Standing, Compound Men W1, Compound Men Open, Recurve Women W2, Recurve Women Standing, Compound Women Open, Visually Impaired Open'' * Nations: ''National rankings based on all disciplines'' From 2006, rankings were calculated for Field Archery, but since 2012 are no longer maintained. World Archery Federation
The World Archery Federation (WA, also and formerly known as FITA from the French ''Fédération Internationale de Tir à l'Arc'') is the governing body of the sport of archery. It is based in Lausanne, Switzerland. It is composed of 156 national federations and other archery associations, and is recognised by the International Olympic Committee. History FITA was founded on 4 September 1931 in Lwow, Poland (today Lviv, Ukraine). Its seven founding member states were France, Czechoslovakia, Sweden, Poland, the United States, Hungary, and Italy. The aim of the organization was to create regular archery championships, and to return archery to the Olympic Games (the sport had not been featured since 1920). FITA was finally successful in returning archery to the Olympic program in the 1972 Summer Olympics. Marcus Vinicius Carvalho Lopes D'Almeida (born January 30, 1998 in Rio de Janeiro), known as Marcus D'Almeida, is a Brazilian athlete who competes in recurve archery. World runner-up in 2021. In February 2023, he became the first Brazilian to lead the world archery ranking in his category, the recurve bow. Career D'Almeida first competed internationally in 2013, and in 2014 won three gold medals at the South American Games (where he broke all South American records for 1440 Rounds) and qualified for the 2014 Archery World Cup Final as the second highest qualifier, where he won a silver medal, losing to Brady Ellison in the final by shoot-off. is an archery athlete from Japan, competing in both individual and team archery events. He competed in the 2004, 2008, 2012, and 2020 Summer Olympics. Pablo Acha González (born 4 August 1996) is a Spanish male recurve archer. Acha won an individual gold medal and a mixed team silver medal at the 2021 European Championships. He has also medalled at the 2018 Mediterranean Games, the 2019 European Games and several Archery World Cups. Career In 2017, Acha debuted on the senior international circuit. Atanu Das (born 5 April 1992) represents India in the recurve men's individual and team events. His current world ranking is 9 as of 22 July 2021. He is the spouse of World No. 1 Indian archer Deepika Kumari. Career Das started archery at the age of 14 under the coaching of Mithu Da. In 2008, he moved to Tata Archery Academy where he was trained under the Korean coach Lim Chae Wong. He made his international debut in 2008.
