Woodlock
Woodlock are a Melbourne-based Indie pop, Alt Pop/Folk music, folk band who gained popularity by busking the streets of rural and capital cities. New Zealand-born brothers Zech Walters (guitar/vocals) and Eze Walters (guitar/vocals) struck up a friendship with Bowen Purcell (drums) after moving to Australia. In search of adventure, the three travelled around the country busking, before eventually settling in Melbourne. Now signed to Nettwerk Records, Nettwerk, the group have released three independent Extended play, EPs and an album, The Future of an End. History While travelling overseas, New Zealand brothers Zech and Eze Walters met Australian-born Bowen Purcell. After relocating to Purcell's home of Australia, Woodlock was born. Sirens (Woodlock EP)
Sirens is the third independent EP by Melbourne acoustic folk band Woodlock. The album was recorded in 2015 with producer Andy Mak, and supported by a national tour, as well as four festival appearances. The album charted on the ARIA Independent Charts, while the title track also charted on the ARIA Singles Charts. Woodlock has described the title track as a 'coming of age' song. "It’s almost a baptism from being the teenagers busking the streets, to the adults who really believe they have something to offer the world. Overall its about standing firm for what you believe, and not swaying on it." Labour Of Love (Woodlock EP)
Labour of Love is the second independent EP by Melbourne acoustic folk band Woodlock. Described as their 'sophomore' album, Labour of Love was recorded in early 2014 when the band paused their busking career to head to Albert Studios in Sydney to meet with producer Wayne Connolly. The album was released by digital download through iTunes as well as in physical copies sold at performances, and later from the website. Wayne Connolly
Wayne Paul Connolly is an Australian musician, record producer and audio engineer. From 1991 to 1997 Connolly provided lead guitar and vocals in guitar pop group the Welcome Mat, with whom he released two studio albums. In 1994, he formed Knievel with Tracy Ellis and Nick Kennedy, which issued four studio albums. Knievel achieved high rotation on national youth radio Triple J, they toured locally and internationally, and supported performances by Luna, Teenage Fanclub, Death Cab for Cutie and The Pernice Brothers. Career Musician Wayne Connolly (ex-Deluge), on lead guitar and backing vocals, joined urban and western band John Kennedy's Love Gone Wrong in Sydney in mid-1986. Luke George Girgis, formerly known by his stage name, Coptic Soldier, is an Australian hip-hop artist, music manager, record label executive, and publisher. He often performed with stage partner, Phatchance (aka Chance Waters) and later became his manager.
