Woodburn High School (WHS) is a four-year public high school located in Woodburn, Oregon, United States. Academics Via funding from the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, the WHS campus is divided into four smaller schools and focus on different areas of study: * Academy of International Studies (AIS) * Woodburn Academy of Art, Science, & Technology (WAAST) * Woodburn Arts & Communications Academy (WACA) * Wellness, Business, and Sports School (WeBSS) Since July 3, 2001, AIS, WAAST, and WACA have offered International Baccalaureate courses and students can earn a full IB diploma. Volleyball
Volleyball is a team sport in which two teams of six players are separated by a net. Each team tries to score points by grounding a ball on the other team's court under organized rules. It has been a part of the official program of the Summer Olympic Games since Tokyo 1964. Beach volleyball was introduced to the programme at the Atlanta 1996. Kat Bjelland
Katherine Lynne Bjelland (born December 9, 1963) is an American musician. She rose to prominence as the lead singer, guitarist, and songwriter of the alternative rock band Babes in Toyland, which she formed in Minneapolis, Minnesota, in 1987. She has been noted for her unusual vocal style alternately consisting of shrill screams, whispering, and speaking in tongues, as well as for her guitar playing style, which incorporates "jagged" tones with "psychotic rockabilly rhythms". Stacy Allison
Stacy Allison (born 1958), raised in Woodburn, Oregon, is the first American woman to reach the summit of Mount Everest, the world's highest mountain, which she did on September 29, 1988. Most impressively she led a successful expedition that summited K2 on July 7, 1993 including Phil Powers, Jim Haberl, and Dan Culver (who died on the descent). Biography Stacy Allison began climbing while a biology student at Oregon State University. She attempted her first major climb at age 21 on Mount Huntington. Softball is a game similar to baseball played with a larger ball on a smaller field. Softball is played competitively at club levels, the college level, and the professional level.
