Women's Super Series
The Women's Super Series, previously known as the Women's Super 3s, is a women's domestic cricket tournament organised by Cricket Ireland. The tournament began in 2015 as a combined Limited overs cricket, 50-over and Twenty20 tournament, with three teams taking part: Dragons (women's cricket), Dragons, Scorchers (women's cricket), Scorchers and Typhoons (women's cricket), Typhoons. In 2020, the tournament was reduced to two teams and only used a 50-over format. In 2021, the Super Series was split into separate 50-over and Twenty20 tournaments. In 2022, the tournament returned to a three team format. Scorchers have won 7 titles, Dragons have won 3 titles and Typhoons have won one title. Cricket Ireland, officially the Irish Cricket Union, is the national governing body for cricket on the island of Ireland (both the Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland), and oversees the national men's and women's cricket teams. 2019 Women's Super 3s
The 2019 Women's Super 3s, known for sponsorship reasons as the 2019 Toyota Super 3s, was the fifth Women's Super 3s competition that took place in Ireland. It ran from May to July, with 3 teams taking part made up of the best players in Ireland. The teams played 10 matches each, two 50 over matches and eight Twenty20s. Dragons won the competition, winning their third title, and second in two seasons. Competition format The three teams played ten matches each in a league system. Each team played the other two sides once in a 50 over match and four times in a Twenty20 match, with all matches contributing to a unified table. The Inter-Provincial Trophy is a Twenty20 cricket tournament between the four leading cricketing provinces of Ireland. The tournament took place in June and July 2022, alongside the 50 over Arachas Super 50 Cup. Three teams competed in a triple round-robin group stage: Dragons, Scorchers and Typhoons. The tournament was won by Scorchers. Competition format The three sides played each other side twice in Twenty20 matches in June and July, including three matchdays involving double-headers. The tournament ran alongside the 50 over Arachas Super 50 Cup. Originally the opening match of the tournament was scheduled to take place on 6 June 2021, but it was held on 3 May according to the revised fixtures of the tournament. On 30 April 2021, Cricket Ireland released the revised fixtures of the series, with two teams taking part. Although the previous editions of the tournament were competed between three teams, due to the impact of COVID-19 pandemic, the 2021 season featured two teams, with Arachas named as the title sponsors of the event.
