Basketball
Basketball is a team sport in which two teams, most commonly of five players each, opposing one another on a rectangular court, compete with the primary objective of shooting a basketball (approximately in diameter) through the defender's hoop (a basket in diameter mounted high to a backboard at each end of the court, while preventing the opposing team from shooting through their own hoop. Allana Lim
Allana May Lim (born September 12, 1988) is a Filipino professional basketball player for the Parañaque Lady Aces of the WNBL–Philippines. College career She became a key player for the FEU Lady Tamaraws of the University Athletic Association of the Philippines (UAAP) helping her team reach the final in Season 73 and clinch the title in Season 74. She was also named as the Season 74 MVP. Professional career After her graduation from FEU, she was signed in to play for KL Ruby of the Malaysian Women's Basketball League (MWBL). She debuted in KL Ruby's 66-55 win over Bina Puri, also the first win in that season coming in for injured Australian import Jessica Fergus. Lim scored 25 points and made 10 rebounds in that game. 2021 WNBL–Philippines Season
The 2021 WNBL–Pilipinas season, also known as the 2021 Pia Cayetano WNBL season, is the second season of the Women's National Basketball League (WNBL) of the Philippines. It is also the first season of the WNBL as a professional league as recognized by the Games and Amusement Board of the Philippine government. The season started on July 18, 2021. On July 29, the league announced through their Facebook page that the games were postponed due to the implementation of the highest quarantine restriction (Enhanced Community Quarantine) in Metro Manila beginning on August 6. The season resumed on September 18 after quarantine restrictions in Metro Manila eased up. Janine Ricalde Pontejos (born October 29, 1992) is a Filipino professional basketball player. She also represents the Philippine national team in international competitions. College Janine Pontejos first took up basketball growing up with her siblings in Lemery, Batangas. Her first competitive experience in the sport was as a varsity player of De La Salle Lipa. She part of both the school's athletics and basketball team. She later transferred to the Centro Escolar University and became part of the CEU Lady Scorpions.
