Hatchet Lake Denesuline Nation ( chp, Tthęł Tué Dene) is a Denesuline First Nation in northern Saskatchewan. The main settlement, Wollaston Lake, is an unincorporated community on Wollaston Lake in the boreal forest of north-eastern Saskatchewan, Canada. The population centre comprises the northern settlement of Wollaston Lake, an unincorporated community in the Northern Saskatchewan Administration District, and the adjoining First Nations community of Wollaston Post, the administrative headquarters of the Hatchet Lake Dene First Nation band government. Access is provided by Wollaston Lake Airport and Highway 905. With the highway on the west side of the lake and the community on the east, access from the highway is provided by an ice road in the winter and by the Wollaston Barge Ferry in the summer. Wollaston Lake
Wollaston Lake is a lake in north-eastern Saskatchewan, Canada. It is northeast of Prince Albert. With a surface area of (excluding islands; if islands are included), it is the largest bifurcation lake in the world – that is, a lake that drains naturally in two directions. About 10% of the lake's water drains into the Fond du Lac River, which flows out of the lake to the north-west, where it drains into Lake Athabasca, which ultimately drains into the Arctic Ocean via the Mackenzie River system. The rest of the water drains into the Cochrane River, which flows out of the north-eastern side of the lake and into Reindeer Lake, which drains via the Churchill River system into Hudson Bay. Wollaston Lake's main inflow is the Geikie River which flows from the south-west into the south-west section of the lake. Transwest Air was a scheduled and charter airline primarily serving the Canadian province of Saskatchewan. Its headquarters and main base was at Prince Albert. Transwest was formed in 2000 by the merger of Air Sask, established as La Ronge Aviation in 1960, and Athabaska Airways. The company offered not only scheduled passenger services, but fishing charters, surveying work, forest fire fighting, and medevac operations. Transwest's equipment includes a number of bush planes and helicopters, and four Saab 340 regional turboprop airliners. Pronto Airways LP was an airline formed in 2006 that was based in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Canada. It operated scheduled and charter passenger services as well as cargo service until the airline ceased operations in 2015. Its main bases were Prince Albert and Saskatoon, with destinations throughout northern Saskatchewan and Nunavut. History Pronto Airways began operating air services on February 1, 2006 serving Prince Albert, Points North Landing, Wollaston Lake, and La Ronge. On March 15, 2006, service was extended to Saskatoon and Stony Rapids. In 2015, Pronto's cargo and passenger services were absorbed into those of its parent company, West Wind Aviation, effectively discontinuing the Pronto name. The Piper PA-31 Navajo is a family of cabin-class, twin-engined aircraft designed and built by Piper Aircraft for the general aviation market, most using Lycoming engines.
