Wolfgang Stuck
Wolfgang Stuck (22 March 1939 – 2 February 2022) was a German tennis player. Stuck, one of the best clay court players of his time, was a member of LTTC Rot-Weiß in Berlin. He won West Germany's national outdoor championships back to back in 1959 and 1960, then claimed the indoor title in 1963. His career included a fourth round appearance at the 1960 French Championships and he registered multiple wins over the world's top amateur player Neale Fraser. Tennis
Tennis is a racket sport that is played either individually against a single opponent ( singles) or between two teams of two players each ( doubles). Each player uses a tennis racket that is strung with cord to strike a hollow rubber ball covered with felt over or around a net and into the opponent's court. The object of the game is to manoeuvre the ball in such a way that the opponent is not able to play a valid return. The player who is unable to return the ball validly will not gain a point, while the opposite player will. Tennis is an Olympic sport and is played at all levels of society and at all ages. The Miami News
''The Miami News'' was an evening newspaper in Miami, Florida. It was the media market competitor to the morning edition of the ''Miami Herald'' for most of the 20th century. The paper started publishing in May 1896 as a weekly called ''The Miami Metropolis''. The ''Metropolis'' had become a daily (except Sunday) paper of eight pages by 1903. On June 4, 1923, former Ohio governor James M. Cox bought the ''Metropolis'' and renamed it the ''Miami Daily News-Metropolis''. On January 4, 1925 the newspaper became the ''Miami Daily News'', and published its first Sunday edition. Cox had a new building erected for the newspaper, and the Miami News Tower was dedicated on July 25, 1925. This building later became famous as the Freedom Tower. Rot-Weiss Tennis Club
The Lawn-Tennis-Turnier-Club "Rot-Weiß" (abbr.: LTTC, ''red-white'') is a tennis club located in Grunewald, part of a district in Berlin, Germany. The club was founded in 1897 as ''Lawn Tennis Turnier Club'', and was the origin for careers of many German tennis players in the 20th century like Cilly Aussem, Otto Froitzheim, Henner Henkel, Hans Moldenhauer, Hans-Jürgen Pohmann, Roman Najuch and Daniel Prenn. The central court has been the venue of the German Pro Championships since 1911 and later the German Open WTA Tour tournament from 1979 until 2008, and again since 2021. The club has 16 clay courts. During winter season there are eight indoor courts available. A larger 7,000-seat stadium court was built in 1996 to replace the old one with 3,500. Neale Fraser
Neale Andrew Fraser (born 3 October 1933) is a former number one amateur male tennis-player from Australia, born in Melbourne, Victoria, the son of a Victorian judge. Fraser is the last man to have completed the triple crown, i.e. having won the singles, doubles and mixed doubles titles at a Grand Slam tournament, which he managed on two consecutive occasions, in 1959 and 1960 (both times at US National, now known as US Open); no male player has equalled this feat at any Grand Slam tournament since. After his playing days were over, he was non-playing captain of Australia's Davis Cup team for a record 24 years. Biography He was the son of barrister and politician Archibald Fraser. The Davis Cup is the premier international team event in men's tennis.
