LISFF Wiz-Art is an annual International Short Film Festival, which takes place in Lviv, Ukraine at the end of July. The festival was started by art formation Wiz-Art, which was founded in 2008. The festival shows more than 100 brand new short movies every year. Wiz-Art is a powerful cultural and educational platform that unites Ukrainian and foreign filmmakers and introduces them to the Ukrainian audience experienced professionals. The festival has also premiered films featured as part of the Brussels Short Film Festival, in addition to collaborating with other festival programs. Competition program Short films from all over the world participate in the festival. Participants from any country can send an application form. The festival shows more than 100 brand new short movies every year. Selected films in each category are eligible for several awards. Nadia Yaroslavivna Parfan ( uk, Надія Ярославівна Парфан; born 6 September 1986) is a Ukrainian anthropologist, film director and creative producer who is the co-founder of the 86 film festival, and a member of the Ukrainian Film Academy. Early life and education Born on 6 September 1986, in the Ukrainian city of Ivano-Frankivsk. She received degrees from Central European University in social anthropology and Kyiv's National University of Kyiv-Mohyla Academy in cultural studies ( B.A. in 2007; M.A. in 2009). Euromaidan
Euromaidan (; uk, Євромайдан, translit=Yevromaidan, lit=Euro Square, ), or the Maidan Uprising, was a wave of Political demonstration, demonstrations and civil unrest in Ukraine, which began on 21 November 2013 with large protests in Maidan Nezalezhnosti (Independence Square) in Kyiv. The protests were sparked by the Ukrainian government's sudden decision not to sign the European Union–Ukraine Association Agreement, instead choosing closer ties to Russia and the Eurasian Economic Union. Babylon'13
Babylon'13 () is a Ukrainian documentary filmmakers' association founded in 2013. Established to raise awareness of the Maidan protests in Ukraine and oppose Russian propaganda surrounding the Annexation of Crimea, the association has produced more than seven full-length documentaries and over a hundred short web films. Films During the Maidan protests, the films of Babylon'13 focused on the large demonstrations and sweeping movements of the revolution. The collective continued to produce films through the 2022 Russian invasion of Ukraine, but shifted its focus to low-tech, small-scale short films that had a much more narrow and grounded focus. Romas Zabarauskas
Romas Zabarauskas (born 31 May 1990) is a Lithuanian film director, screenwriter, author and producer. He established film company Naratyvas in 2012. Zabarauskas, a member of the European Film Academy, completed film studies at the Paris 8 Vincennes Saint-Denis University with an exchange year at CUNY/Hunter. He had previously attended the Jonas Basanavičius school in Vilnius. Félix Dufour-Laperrière (born 1981) is a Canadian animator, film director and screenwriter from Chicoutimi, Quebec. He is most noted for his 2021 film ''Archipelago (2021 film), Archipelago (Archipel)'', which was the winner of the Prix Luc-Perreault from the Association québécoise des critiques de cinéma at the 2022 Rendez-vous Québec Cinéma.
