Wiwen Nilsson
Karl Edvin (Wiwen) Nilsson (19 May 1897 in Copenhagen - 8 January 1974)Sveriges dödbok 1947-2006, (Cd-rom), Sveriges Släktforskarförbund. was a Swedish silversmith and jeweller for the royals.Holmquist, K., Silversmeden Wiwen Nilsson, Kulturen Lund: 1990. As young he learned the trade by studies and practical work for his father Ander Nilsson in Lund, he educated himself abroad in Germany between 1913 and 1914, and then later he continued more studies in 1919 and 1920. In 1927, he took over his father's business in Lund. Wiwen Nilsson made his debut with his work at the Gothenburg Exhibition in 1923 where his china coffee service was appreciated as a bold and innovative modernistic piece. Nilsson became one of the 1900s most appreciated and well known silversmiths both in Sweden and internationally. Gothenburg Exhibition (1923)
The Gothenburg Tercentennial Jubilee Exposition (in Swedish ''Jubileumsutställningen i Göteborg'') was a world's fair held in Gothenburg, Sweden during 1923 marking 300th anniversary of the founding of the city. The fair opened 8 May and ran until 30 September. Exhibits and buildings One site was at Liseberg, an existing gardened area. It was opened to the public for the exhibition, hosted several pavilions, including an industrial art house, an exports exhibition, a congress hall and a machine hall and amusement rides including a carousel. The Arts and Craft Pavilion was designed by Hakon Ahlberg and the arts exhibition pavilion by architects Sigfrid Ericson (1879-1958) and Arvid Bjerke (1880-1952) .
