	Wisely The ''Wisely Series'' is a series of Chinese Adventure fiction, adventure-science fiction novels written by the Hong Kong novelist Ni Kuang. The protagonist of the series is Wisely (sometimes also spelt "Wesley"). In total, there are 161 stories about Wisely recorded in 156 novels. Of these, only 150 stories in 145 novels are written by Ni Kuang; the remaining ones are written by other writers with Ni Kuang's permission. Some of these stories have been adapted into media, such as the films ''The Legend of Wisely'' (1987), ''The Cat (1992 film), The Cat'' (1992) and ''The Wesley's Mysterious File'' (2002), and the television series ''The New Adventures of Wisely'' (1998) and ''The 'W' Files'' (2004). 	The New Adventures Of Wisely ''The New Adventures of Wisely'' is a Singaporean adventure-science fiction television series adapted from the novel series ''Wisely Series'' by Ni Kuang. It was directed by Daisy Chan and starred Hong Kong actor Michael Tao as Wisely (or Wei Si Li), the main character. The series was first aired on Television Corporation of Singapore Channel 8 (now MediaCorp Channel 8) in Singapore in 1998. 	The 'W' Files ''The 'W' Files'' (衛斯理) is a 2003 Hong Kong science fantasy-action-adventure-mystery television period drama serial based on Ni Kuang's novel series ''Wisely Series'', starring Gallen Lo as Wisely. The series was first broadcast on TVB in Hong Kong from 2 June to 11 July 2003. The 30-episodes long series contains a total of eight different stories, set in China in the 1930s. 	The Legend Of Wisely ''The Legend of Wisely'' ( zh, t=衛斯理傳奇 or ; released in the Philippines as ''Fighters of the Empire'') is a 1987 Hong Kong fantasy adventure film directed by Teddy Robin based on Ni Kuang's novel series, '' Wisely Series'', starring Samuel Hui as the titular protagonist. The film co-stars Ti Lung, Joey Wong and Robin himself. Plot Wisely, the famous writer/adventurer, is tricked by his friend (played by Teddy Robin, the film's director) into helping him steal the dragon pearl. Samuel Hui plays Wisely in this big budget Hong Kong movie, with production units filming some scenes by the Great Pyramids, and many scenes in Nepal. 	The Seventh Curse ''The Seventh Curse'' is a 1986 Hong Kong adventure film directed by Lam Ngai Kai based on Ni Kuang's novel series ''Dr. Yuen Series'' and stars Chin Siu-ho as Dr. Yuen. The film also stars Chow Yun-fat as Wisely, the protagonist in Ni's ''Wisely Series'' who appears as a supporting character in the ''Dr Yuen Series'', while Ni himself serves as the film's narrator and also making a brief appearance as himself. Plot Dr. Yuen attempts to rescue a beautiful girl from being sacrificed to the "Worm Tribe" she belongs to. Yuen is damned with seven "Blood Curses" which burst through his leg periodically. He will die when the seventh bursts, but Betsy, the girl he saved, stops the curse with an antidote. 	Ni Kuang Ni Cong (30 May 1935 – 3 July 2022), courtesy name Yiming, better known by his pen name Ni Kuang (also romanised Ngai Hong, I Kuang and Yi Kuang), was a Hong Kong-American novelist and screenwriter. He wrote over 300 Chinese-language ''wuxia'' and science fiction novels, and more than 400 film scripts. Life Ni was born on 30 May 1935, in Shanghai, to a family of intellectuals. He was the fourth child out of seven, and one of his younger siblings is novelist Yi Shu. His parents, who worked as insurance agents, left Shanghai for British Hong Kong in 1950 with his three younger siblings, although Ni and his three older siblings remained in Mainland China. In 1951, at the age of 16, he joined the People's Liberation Army, and was employed as a security officer by Jiangsu provincial public security department in 1952 after receiving training at East China People's Revolution University.
