Wisconsin Assembly, District 88
The 88th Assembly District of Wisconsin is one of 99 districts in the Wisconsin State Assembly. Located in Northeastern Wisconsin, the district covers part of central Brown County, Wisconsin, Brown County, including eastern parts of the city of Green Bay, Wisconsin, Green Bay, as well as the villages of Bellevue, Wisconsin, Bellevue and Denmark, Wisconsin, Denmark. The district also contains the University of Wisconsin–Green Bay campus. The district is represented by John Macco, since January 2015. The 88th Assembly district is located within Wisconsin Senate, District 30, Wisconsin's 30th Senate district, along with the Wisconsin Assembly, District 89, 89th and Wisconsin Assembly, District 90, 90th Assembly districts. Republican Party (United States)
The Republican Party, also referred to as the GOP ("Grand Old Party"), is one of the two major contemporary political parties in the United States. The GOP was founded in 1854 by anti-slavery activists who opposed the Kansas–Nebraska Act, which allowed for the potential expansion of chattel slavery into the western territories. Rosemary Hinkfuss
Rosemary T. Hinkfuss ('' née'' Walsh; September 30, 1931March 2, 2016) was a former member of the Wisconsin State Assembly and a member of the Green Bay Packers Board of Directors. Biography Hinkfuss was born Rosemary T. Walsh on September 30, 1931, in Lima, Ohio, to William and Marie Walsh. She later graduated from Cardinal Stritch University. Hinkfuss served on the board of directors for Premontre High School, Girl Scouts of the USA, and the Green Bay Packers. She was the first woman ever to serve on the Packers' board of directors. She was married to William Hinkfuss in 1957; they had six children together. Hinkfuss died on March 2, 2016, in Green Bay, Wisconsin. Peshtigo ( ) is a city in Marinette County, Wisconsin, United States. The population was 3,420 at the 2020 census The city is surrounded by the Town of Peshtigo. It is part of the Marinette, WI– MI Micropolitan Statistical Area. Peshtigo is known for being the site of the Peshtigo fire of 1871, in which more than 1,200 people perished. John Gard
John G. Gard (born August 3, 1963) is an American lobbyist and former politician. A Republican, he was the 75th Speaker of the Wisconsin State Assembly (2003–2007) and was a member of the Assembly for 19 years. Gard also ran unsuccessfully for United States House of Representatives in Wisconsin's 8th congressional district in 2006 and 2008. Early life and career Gard was born in Milwaukee, but was raised on his family's dairy farm in rural Lena, Wisconsin. He graduated from Lena High School and went on to earn his bachelor's degree in political science from University of Wisconsin–La Crosse in 1986. Shawano County (pronounced SHAW-no) (originally Shawanaw County) is a county located in the U.S. state of Wisconsin. As of the 2020 census, the population was 40,881. Its county seat is Shawano. Shawano County is included in the Shawano, WI Micropolitan Statistical Area, which is also included in the Green Bay-Shawano, WI Combined Statistical Area. Esther Doughty Luckhardt
Esther Doughty Luckhardt ('' née'' Schwertfeger; June 18, 1913January 14, 2011) was an American insurance and real estate business owner and Republican politician. She represented Dodge County in the Wisconsin State Assembly for 22 years (1963–1985). At the time of her retirement from politics, she had been the longest-serving female member of the Legislature.
