Wisconsin's 1st State Senate District
The 1st Senate District of Wisconsin is one of 33 districts in the Wisconsin State Senate. Located in northeast Wisconsin, the district comprises all of Door and Kewaunee counties, as well as most of northern Manitowoc County, much of south and east Brown County, northern Calumet County, and part of southwest Outagamie County. It includes the city of Two Rivers, most of the city of De Pere, and parts of the cities of Appleton and Menasha. The district does not contain, but is adjacent to, the Green Bay area. Current elected officials André Jacque is the senator representing the 1st district. He was first elected in the 2018 general election, after losing an earlier bid for the seat in a June 2018 special election. Green Bay is a city in the U.S. state of Wisconsin. The county seat of Brown County, it is at the head of Green Bay (known locally as "the bay of Green Bay"), a sub-basin of Lake Michigan, at the mouth of the Fox River. Mike Gallagher (American Politician)
Michael John Gallagher (born March 3, 1984) is an American politician serving as the U.S. representative for since 2017. His district covers the state's northeastern part. Gallagher succeeded Representative Reid Ribble after the 2016 election. His service in Congress has been notable for contributions in national security. Wisconsin's 8th Congressional District
Wisconsin's 8th congressional district is a congressional district of the United States House of Representatives in northeastern Wisconsin. It is currently represented by Mike Gallagher, a Republican. Gallagher won the open seat vacated by Reid Ribble who retired in 2016. It is also one of two Congressional Districts to ever elect a Catholic priest, Robert John Cornell. The 8th District has leaned Republican throughout its history; seven Democrats have represented it since its creation, but none have served more than two terms. It became more of a swing seat in the 1990s. In 2004, Republican George W. Bush won 55 percent of the vote in the district, while in 2008, Democrat Barack Obama received 53.6 percent of the vote. Ron W. Tusler (born March 21, 1984) is an American attorney and Republican politician. He is a member of the Wisconsin State Assembly, representing the 3rd Assembly district since 2017. Shae Sortwell (born August 3, 1985) is an American Republican politician. He is a member of the Wisconsin State Assembly, representing the 2nd Assembly district since 2019. Sturgeon Bay, Wisconsin
Sturgeon Bay is a city in and the county seat of Door County, Wisconsin, United States. The population was 9,646 at the 2020 Census. The city is well-known regionally for being the largest city of the Door Peninsula, after which the county is named. History The area was originally inhabited by the Ho-Chunk and Menominee. The town is known in the Menominee language as ''Namāēw-Wīhkit'', or "bay of the sturgeon". The Menominee ceded this territory to the United States in the 1831 Treaty of Washington. After that, the area was available for white settlement. The community was first recorded as Graham in 1855 but, in 1857, the state legislature organized it as the town of Ottumba.
