Winter Garden Heritage Museum
The Winter Garden Heritage Foundation (WGHF) is an organization dedicated to preserving history for the communities of West Orange County, Florida. Overview The Winter Garden Heritage Foundation, located at 21 East Plant Street in Winter Garden, Florida's Downtown Historic District, operates two museums in Winter Garden, Florida: the Winter Garden Heritage Museum and the Central Florida Railroad Museum. The History Research, Education, and Visitors' Center is the headquarters for the foundation and contains its administrative offices. It also features a gift shop. Winter Garden is a city west of Downtown Orlando in the western part of Orange County, Florida, United States. It is part of the Orlando–Kissimmee–Sanford, Florida Metropolitan Statistical Area. Atlantic Coast Line Railroad
The Atlantic Coast Line Railroad was a United States Class I railroad formed in 1900, though predecessor railroads had used the ACL brand since 1871. In 1967 it merged with long-time rival Seaboard Air Line Railroad to form the Seaboard Coast Line Railroad. Much of the original ACL network has been part of CSX Transportation since 1986. The Atlantic Coast Line served the Southeast, with a concentration of lines in Florida. Garden Theatre (Winter Garden, Florida)
The Garden Theatre is a refurbished, historic theatre located at 160 West Plant Street in Winter Garden, Florida. The Garden Theatre, which hosts over 200 events a season, including professional level theatre, music, dance, and films. The Garden Theatre serves as the primary performing arts center for the Winter Garden area. History The theatre first opened in December 1935 as a single screen cinema and was the first in Central Florida built for "talkies". Several renovations changed the face of the theatre until it closed in 1963, as movie attendance declined in the new age of television.
