Rotherham () is a large minster and market town in South Yorkshire, England. The town takes its name from the River Rother which then merges with the River Don. The River Don then flows through the town centre. It is the main settlement of the Metropolitan Borough of Rotherham. Rotherham is also the third largest settlement in South Yorkshire after Sheffield and Doncaster, which it is located between. Traditional industries included glass making and flour milling. Most around the time of the industrial revolution, it was also known as a coal mining town as well as a contributor to the steel industry. The town's historic county is Yorkshire. Wingfield Academy
Wingfield Academy is a coeducational secondary school with academy status, located in the Wingfield area of Rotherham, South Yorkshire, England. It has been renamed three times since it opened. It was originally named Wingfield Comprehensive School until September 2006 when it became simply Wingfield School. In September 2008, it became a specialist school and was rebranded as Wingfield Business & Enterprise College. The third rename occurred in August 2013 when the college completed its transition to an academy becoming Wingfield Academy.
