Windidda
Windidda Station, often referred to as Windidda, is a pastoral lease that operates as a cattle station. It is located about east of Wiluna and north east of Leinster in the Mid West region of Western Australia. The property occupies an area of . Windidda shares a boundary with Carnegie and Prenti Downs Stations. History The property was established in about 1900 by the pioneer, James Bett Willis, who had sunk the first well to produce drinkable water in the area. Willis had a partnership with Tommy Mellor in stocking and improving the other otherwise virgin country. In 1948 the property was still owned by Willis, who also owned Clover Downs Station. J. Bell owned the property in 1950 and sold it to Spencer Doman. At this stage the property occupied an area of . Pastoral leases in Western Australia are increasingly known as "stations", and more particular – as either sheep stations or cattle stations. They are usually found in country that is designated as rangeland. In 2013 there were a total of 527 pastoral leases in Western Australia. And all leases were put up for renewal or surrender in 2015. Stations/pastoral leases are a significant part of Western Australian history. At different stages inquiries, pleas for extensions of lease times and royal commissions have been made into the industry. Prenti Downs
Prenti Downs Station is a pastoral lease and cattle station located in the Mid West region of Western Australia. It is situated approximately to the east of Wiluna and north of Laverton. Neighbouring properties include Carnegie and Windidda Stations. The area is composed of a mixture of landscapes including saltbush dominated clay pans, mulga country and grasslands. The stock can be watered at 34 different water points as well as numerous claypans and fresh water creeks. In 2013 Prenti Downs was carrying a herd of 4,000 shorthorn cattle. The property was put on the market in 2013, when it occupied an area of ; Prenti Downs was sold in late March 2015 to the Carmody family who have since taken over management of the property.
