Windfalls
''Windfalls'' is a British stop motion-animated children's television series created, written, and directed by Jenny Kenna. The ''Windfalls'' stories teach children about reading signs in nature, herbal medicine, and the plants of the British countryside. All of the animated characters are real leaves, grasses, and pressed flowers. The stories follow three friends: Berry, Butterbur, and Rosebay. They are Windfalls, and they live in Windfall Land. They meet many other Windfalls on their adventures. The programme features a cast of 21 supporting characters, each designed from a different plant: Daisy, Evening Primrose, Pampas, Fern Polypody, Thistle, Cowslip, Delphinium, Uncle Onion, Cornflower, Lucky Four Leaf Clover, Vi, Ola, Pansy, Bella Donna, Twitch Grass, Couch Grass, Holly, Ivy, Nettle, Dock, and Daffodil. Peter Hawkins
Peter John Hawkins (3 April 1924 – 8 July 2006) was a British actor. During the 1960s, 1970s and 1980s, he was one of the most sought-after voice artists for radio and television, becoming a regular face and voice around the Soho-based circuit of commercial production studios, and working regularly with actors including Patrick Allen, Edward Judd, and Sir David Jason. Early life A policeman's son, Peter John Hawkins was born on 3 April 1924 in Brixton, south London. He made his first stage appearance as a member of the chorus in a musical sketch at school in Clapham. At 14, he wrote, with three friends, a revue entitled The Five Bs. He ran with the Herne Hill Harriers. Hawkins joined the Royal Navy, and survived, though shrapnel pierced his clothing when HMS ''Limbourne'' sank after being torpedoed. FilmFair was a British production company and animation studio that produced children's television series, animated cartoons, educational films, and television advertisements. The company made numerous stop motion films using puppets, clay animation, and cutout animation. History Foundation FilmFair was founded in 1959 by American animator Gus Jekel in Los Angeles, California. After working with Walt Disney Productions and other Hollywood animation studios in the 1930s, Jekel incorporated FilmFair because he wanted the freedom to create live action work as well. The studio was in Animation Alley, a stretch of Cahuenga Boulevard that runs through Studio City in northern Los Angeles. Jekel's company produced television advertisements—some animated, others live action—and was extremely successful; even Disney was a client.
