Wilson County Schools is a K–12 school district in Wilson County, Tennessee, United States. The district enrolls nearly 20,000 students and over 1,100 teachers at ten elementary schools, three K–8 school, K-8 schools, four Middle school, middle schools, and five High Schools, high schools. Students who live within the K–8 Lebanon Special School District (LSSD) automatically transition to Lebanon High School (Tennessee), Lebanon High School in Wilson County Schools after completing their eighth-grade year. Lebanon is the county seat of Wilson County, Tennessee, United States. The population was 38,431 at the 2020 census. Lebanon is located in Middle Tennessee, approximately east of downtown Nashville. Lebanon is part of the Nashville Metropolitan Statistical Area. History The city was incorporated in 1801, and was named after the biblical cedars of Lebanon (''Cedrus libani''). Green Hill High School
Green Hill High School (GHHS) is a public high school in Mt. Juliet, Tennessee. It is one of the largest public schools in Wilson County and is part of the Wilson County School District. Completed in the fall of 2020, Green Hill High School is the largest public project in Wilson County history, with a budget of 107 million. GHHS sits on a 60-acre campus, and the facilities have a 400,000+ square-foot footprint. The school has a capacity of 2,000 students. It serves northwest portions of Mt. Tornado Outbreak Of March 2–3, 2020
A small but deadly tornado outbreak affected West and Middle Tennessee on the night of March 2 and into the morning of March 3, 2020, including a high-end EF3 tornado that hit Nashville and Mount Juliet, becoming the 6th costliest tornado in United States history, and a violent EF4 tornado that impacted areas in and just west of Cookeville. A total of 25 people were killed by the tornadoes, with an additional 309 being injured, and more than 70,000 lost electricity. The path of the Nashville tornado was very similar to the one that hit East Nashville in 1998. A few additional tornadoes were also confirmed in Alabama, southeastern Missouri, and western Kentucky. Lebanon Special School District (LSSD) is a K-8 school district headquartered in Lebanon, Tennessee. It serves most of Lebanon and some unincorporated areas.
