Bill Payne (born 21 December 1967) is a retired American pole vaulter. He won the silver medal at the 1991 Summer Universiade, and competed at the 1995 World Championships without reaching the final. His personal best is 5.86 metres, achieved in May 1991 in Houston. This result secures him a place on the all-time list in pole vault, and places him thirteenth on the American all-time list behind Jeff Hartwig, Timothy Mack, Toby Stevenson, Brad Walker, Lawrence Johnson, Scott Huffman, Joe Dial, Dean Starkey, Jacob Davis, Nick Hysong, Kory Tarpenning and Earl Bell Earl Holmes Bell (born August 25, 1955) is a retired American pole vaulter. Will Payne is an English actor. Will Payne grew up in Bath, Somerset, and is the younger brother of actor Tom Payne. He attended Kingswood School before going on to do a foundation year at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art, graduating in 2009. In 2012, he appeared in the feature film Elfie Hopkins, starring opposite Jaime Winstone and Ray Winstone. William Henry Schofield Payne (1804–18 December 1878) was an actor, dancer and pantomimist, who created much of the stage business connected with the character Harlequin in 19th-century harlequinades. He was the father of the Victorian era pantomime clowns the Payne Brothers. William Payne (Exeter 4 March 1760 – August 1830 London) was an English painter and etcher who invented the tint Payne's grey. Life and work Payne hit upon certain methods which considerably increased the resources of watercolour art, especially in the rendering of sunlight and atmosphere. His 'style,' as it was called, was one which was not only new and effective, but could be learnt without much difficulty, and he soon became the most fashionable drawing-master in London. Among the innovations with which he is credited were "splitting the brush to give forms of foliage, dragging the tints to give texture to his foregrounds, and taking out the forms of lights by wetting the surface and rubbing with bread and rag". He also abandoned the use of outline with the pen, but the invention by which he is best known is a neutral tint composed of indigo, raw sienna, and lake called Payne's grey. Life Payne was born at Hutton, Essex, was educated at Brentwood free school, and went on to Magdalene College, Cambridge, in May 1665, graduating B.A. in 1669, and M.A. in 1672. He obtained a fellowship there on 6 July 1671, and retained it until 1675, when he married. He was in the same year presented to the livings of Frinstead and Wormshill (where he resided) in Kent.
