William V. Sullivan
William Van Amberg Sullivan (December 18, 1857March 21, 1918) was a United States representative and United States Senate, Senator from Mississippi. Biography Born near Winona, Mississippi, he attended the common schools in Panola County, Mississippi, Panola County and the University of Mississippi at Oxford, Mississippi, Oxford, where he was a member of St. Anthony Hall. He graduated from Vanderbilt University, in Nashville, Tennessee, in 1875, was admitted to the bar (law), bar that year, and commenced practice in Austin, Mississippi, Austin. He moved to Oxford in 1877, was a member of the board of city aldermen, and was elected as a USDemocrat, Democrat to the Fifty-fifth Congress and served from March 4, 1897, to May 31, 1898, when he resigned, having been appointed Senator. Hernando Money
Hernando De Soto Money (August 26, 1839September 18, 1912) was an American politician from the state of Mississippi. Biography Money was born in Holmes County, Mississippi. He was named after the Spanish explorer Hernando De Soto. Early in his life, he moved with his family to Carrollton, Mississippi. He received his early education in the public schools and from a private tutor and subsequently graduated from the law department of the University of Mississippi at Oxford, where he was a member of St. Anthony Hall. He was admitted to the bar and commenced practice in Carrollton, Mississippi, about 1860. As a young man he served in the Confederate army during the American Civil War. After the war, he established himself as an important planter, lawyer and newspaper editor in Mississippi.
